Lesson Topic: Cells and Microorganisms

Write a brief summary of your experiences teaching this lesson, addressing the
following questions:

 What went well? What did not go well? (Cite specific examples)

Students were engage in science concepts through three dimensional learning

strategies. There is evidence of the integration of SEP (investigations and inquiry), CCC
(patterns), and content (life science). Students use science language and the language of
the standards to communicate their science thinking and ideas coherently and precisely
to peers, teachers, and others. For example, Students discuss and use terms like:
Nucleus, cell membrane, mitochondria, vacuole, cytoplasm. The integration of science
went

 How well were the lesson’s student performance objectives attained?

Students were taught the cells organelles and their functions. Students
work on making sense of scientific phenomena or problems and objectively
communicate their findings after time is up, students are asked to find a partner
and compare models. Instructed to discuss what is included in their models

 Did classroom activity center on science understanding, inquiry, and sense-

making by all students? Students understood they were going to learn about the
building block of life Cells. Concepts were taught via multimedia and venue, such
as study jams, discovery education and handouts.

 Did your scientific content knowledge enable you to support students’

construction of knowledge and understanding of important scientific concepts
and processes? Students understood they were going to learn about the building
block of life Cells. Concepts were taught via multimedia and venue, such as study
jams, discovery education and handouts. Using anchor and reading in small
groups help all different academic abilities with the classroom
 When you have the opportunity to re-teach this lesson, what will you do
differently (strategies, teaching tools, assessments, etc.) to improve student
learning for all students? This is a lesson that take 2-3 days to teach and I think
every think went pretty well, therefor I don’t think any change need to be made.
