The soundtracks of famous movies come to life in the stage of

de doelen for only 2 nights!

The Soundtrack of Harry Potter, Lord of the rings, Twilight,

Phantom of the opera, pirates of the Caribbean, Game of
thrones, Once upon a time, last of the mohicans will be played
from the Rotterdam Philarmonic orchestra for the first time
under the baton of Yannick and with the great violinist Itzhak
Perlman for the soundtrack of Cinema paradiso, Schindler's list
and Scent of a woman.

For the first time wizards, Pirates, vampires etc come to life in
the same stage through the music and the film scenes!

Few things about the composers & the movies of the soundtracks...

John Williams ~ born February 8, in 1932. He is an American composer, conductor

& pianist. He has composed some of the most popular film scores. He has won 24
Grammy awards, 7 British academy film awards. 5 academy awards, 4 golden
globe awards.
Harry potter was based on the harry potter novels by author J.K Rowling & consistis
of 8 fantasy films. John Williams scored the 3 first films & he received academy
awards nominations for the 1st & 3rd films.
Schindler's list is an American historical drama directed by Steven Spielberg. It's
about the holocaust of Jewish during the WW2. The film was the recipient of 7
academy awards. John Williams said to Spielberg ''you need a better composer that
i am for this film'' Spielberg responded ''I know, But they are all dead''. The score of
the movie has won an academy award for best original score.

Carter Burwell ~ born November 18, in 1955. He is an American composer. &

conductor. He studied in Harvard college. He was nominated for 1 academy award,
3 golden globes & 1 emmy award. He has won an emmy award as well.
The twilight saga breaking dawn part 2 is an American romantic drama fantasy
directed by Bill Condon & based on a novel of Stephanie Mayer. It consists 5 films
& breaking dawn part 2 is the last one. Carter Burwell has composed the 1sr movie
and breaking dawn part 1 & 2.

Andrew Lloyd Webber ~ born March 22 in 1922. He is an English

composer & impresario of music theater. He has
won number of awards as 6 tonys,

3 Grammys, an academy award, 14 ivor novello awards, 7 olivier awards, a golden

globe a brittish award, the 2006 kennedy center honors & 2008 classic brittish
award for outstanding contribution music. His company really useful group, in one
of the largest theater operators in London.
The phantom of the opera is a musical of Andrew Lloyd Webber & lyrics by
Charles Hart & Richard Stilgoe. The plot has to do with a soprano who becomes
the obsession of a mysterious musical genious. It won in 1986 Olivier award & 1988
Tony award for best musical. Lloyd Webber's score is sometimes operatic in style
but maintains the form & structure of a musical thoughout.

Hans Zimmer ~ born September 12 in 1957. He is a German film score composer &
record producer. He has composed music for over 150 films. He has received 4
grammy awards, 3 classical BRIT awards, 2 Golden globes & an academy award.
He was named on the list of top 100 living geniuses published by the daily
telegraph.
The lion king is an American animated movie by Disney media directed by Roger
Allers & Rob Minkoff. It consists 3 films. The score of the movie has won an
academy award for best original score.
The pirates of the caribbean is a series of fantasy swashbuckler films directed by
Gore Verbinski(1-3), Rob Marshall(4). The stories follows the adventures og
Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner & Elisabeth Swan. The series has many
nominations for awards.

Carlos Gardel ~ born December 11 in 1890 died June 24 in 1935.

He was a French Argentinian singer, songwriter,
composer & actor.

He was the most prominent figure in the history of tango. He wrote several classic
tangos. Gardel died in an airplane crash.
Scent of woman is an American drama film produced * directed by Martin Brest
that tells the story of a preparatory school student who takes a job as an assistant
to an irritable, blind, medically retired army officer. The film has won many awards.
The starting phrase in the B section of piece por una cabeza may be inspired by
Mozart's rondo for violin & orchestra in C major K.373.

Howard Shore ~ born October 18 in 1946. He is a Canadian composer who is

notable for his film scores. He has composed over 80 film scores. He has won 3
academy awards, 3 golden globes & 4 grammy awards.
The Lord of the rings is a film series consisting of 3 high fantasy adventure films
directed by Peter Jackson. They are based on the novel of J.R.R Tolkien.
Howard Shore composed orchestrated, conducted, and produced the trilogy's
music. In the music, Shore included many leitmotifs to represent various characters,
cultures, and places - the largest catalogue of leitmotives in the history of cinema.

Mark Isham ~ born September 7 in 1951. He is an American trumpeter, synthesist &

film composer.
Once upon a time is an American fantasy drama television series.

Ramin Djawadi ~ born July 19 in 1974. He is an Iranian-German composer. He has

studied in Berklee College of music.
Game of thrones in an American fantasy drama television series created
by David Benioff & D.S Weiss.

Djawadi has composed themes for each of the major houses and also for some of
the main characters. The score of the sieries has won an academy award.

Trevor Jones & Randy Eldeman ~ Jones was born in March 23 in 1949. He is an
African composer of film & television scores. He is been nominated for 2 golden
globes & 3 Bafta awards for best music. Elderman was born in June 10 in 1947. He
is an American musician, producer & composer for film & television scores. He has
been nominated for a golden globe, Bafta award & is the recipient of 12 BMI
awards.
The last last of the mohicans is an American epic historical film drama directed by
Michael Mann. The story takes place in 1757 during the French & Indian war. Has
won many awards.

Ennio Morricone ~ born November 10 in 1928. He is an Italian composer,

orchestrator, conductor & former trumpet player. He composes wide ranges of
musical styles making him one of the most versatile, experimental and influential
composers of all time. Morricone has composed over 500 scores for cinema &
television as well as over 100 classical works. His filmography includes over 70
award-winning films.
Cinema paradiso is an Italian drama film written and directed by Giuseppe
Tornatore. The movie has won an academy award for best foreign film.

Canadian conductor and
pianist. He is currently music
director of the Metropolitain
orchestra of Montreal,
Metropolitan opera, and of
the Philadelphia orchestra. He
is principal conductor of
Rotterdam Philarmonic
orchestra.
He began to study piano at age five. Jeanne d'Arc
Lebrun-Lussier and decided to become an
orchestra conductor at age 10. He was admitted to
Anisia Campos's piano class at the conservatoire de
musique du Quebecwhere he earnedfive first
prizes in piano. He also studied choral conducting
with Joseph Flummerfelt at the Westminster Choir
college in New Jersey.

Itzhak Perlman was born in Tel Aviv in 1945

He is an Israeli-American violinist,
conductor, and music teacher. Perlman has
performed all over the world, in venues
that have included a state dinner at the
white house and he has conducted
the detroit symphony orchestra
andthe Westchester philarmonic.

Perlman studied with Rivka Goldgart at the Shulamit conservatory

and at the academy of Tel Aviv.Later he moved to United States
to study at Julliard school with the violin pedagogue Ivan Galamian
and his assistant Dorophy DeLay.
