    LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

    It is with immense pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Ateshbir
    Sandhu as a candidate for Masters Degree from your prestigious university. I have known
    him for the best part of last three years in the capacity of Assistant Professor in the
    Department of Civil Engineering at Thapar University, Patiala.

    My first close interaction with Ateshbir occurred during the 20-day survey camp at Chail,
    Himachal Pradesh in the second year of his undergrad study. The camp involved the
    application of survey equipments and theoretical techniques to plot the topographical map
    of a given area. He was designated as the group leader for his group of 10 students. As the
    overall teacher coordinator for the camp, I was impressed with his hard work and intense
    focus in timely completion of the task at hand. He displayed a natural talent in using all the
    equipments and exhibited great leadership skills. His group interpreted the surveyed data
    to great detail and managed to prepare one of the best topographical survey sheet among
    all the groups. His diligence and curiosity to learn beyond the scope of the given objective is
    what sets him apart from his peers.

    In the semesters to follow, I taught him. He always exhibited willingness to grasp and learn
    new concepts in class and was ever inquisitive about the practical application of things
    covered in class.

    He was always on a mission to upgrade his knowledge and improve his understanding of the
    subject through any relevant research material he could find. In summary, I observed that he is
    focused with an ability to approach new challenges head on and give his very best in everything
    he does. He is cooperative with his project mates and can work efficiently in a group. He arouses
    queries that are germane and which make teaching easier and complete.

    All the qualities he possess, I think, will stand her in a good stead as he goes for further
    studies and can also act as a good foundation for any research endeavors he might have in
    the future. In my humble opinion Ateshbir would be enriching addition to your master’s
    batch and I am pleased to give him my highest recommendations.
