organizing the 2nd Maharashtra Senior State Selection Badminton Tournament 2014 which will be
held under the auspices of Maharashtra Badminton Association at Yavatmal between 20th to
23rd November 2014 AT Freedom Fighter Jawaharlal Darda Indoor Stadium, H.V.S.K.M.Phy.Edn.
College, Plot No.P-10 MIDC Lohara, Yavatmal.

The following events will be held as Follows:

1) Mens Singles, 2) Mens Doubles, 3) Women Singles, 4) Women Doubles

Enclosed please find entry forms along with rules, regulations and General Information for
your reference. All entries should be sent through respective district secretaries of Affiliated
District Associations of Maharashtra Badminton Association to:

Direct entries from players are not accepted.

The Last date of receipt of entries is Monday, 10th November 2014 upto 6:00 PM

Draws for the tournament will take place on 14th November 2014 and the Draws and Fixtures
for the tournament will be displayed at the venue as well as on the Maharashtra Badminton
Association’s Website at : http://www.mbasso.in on 17th November 2014.

You are requested to kindly circulate this information to all concerned players from your
district and ensure their participation. We also request the players to participate in large
numbers and make this event successful.

 RULES, REGULATIONS & GENERAL INFORMATION

(A) ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT

1. Tournament is open is open to all amateur players from Maharashtra State only.
2. The tournament will commence from Thursday, 20th November 2014 & will conclude on Sunday,
23rd November 2014 at Freedom Fighter Jawaharlal Darda Indoor Stadium, H.V.S.K.M.Phy.Edn.
College, Plot No.P-10 MIDC Lohara, Yavatmal.
3. Play is scheduled to commence at 9.00AM and 3.00 PM everyday subject to changes with prior
intimation.
4. This tournament will be conducted as per the rules & regulations for tournaments as laid down by the
BWF and BAI. The decision of the tournament committee will be final and binding on all players.

(B) HOW TO SEND THE ENTRIES

1. The entries must be sent by the Hon.Secretary of respective District Association on their Letter
Head in prescribed format which is enclosed for your reference by email to: Maharashtra
Badminton Association (MBA) on Email: entry@mbasso.in
Entries sent only by District Secretaries shall be accepted in consolidated form and direct
entries from players will not be accepted.
2. Entries must reach the MBA by Monday, 10th November 2014 up to 6.00 PM.
3. Demand Drafts for entry fees should be made payable to “Yavatmal District Badminton
Association ”on any bank payable at Yavatmal.
4. The tournament committee reserves the right of refusing any entry without assigning any reason.

(C ) ABOUT THE DRAWS:

1. List of entries received shall be displayed on MBA website at http://www.mbasso.in from 8th to 11th
November 2014. Draws & fixtures using Tournament Software and as per the revised regulations of
B.W.F. will be put up on the notice board of the venue as well as displayed on Maharashtra
Badminton Association website on 17th November 2014.

(D) HOW THE TOURNAMENT IS GOING TO BE CONDUCTED:

1. Line judges may not be appointed for the matches till Quarter-finals. Players will have to work as
line judges whenever called for by the Tournament Officials.
2. Each Competitor must report to the Hon. Referee on his arrival at the venue of the tournament.
3. Player failing to report on the court when called by the Hon. Referee, will be liable to be
scratched.
5. Clothing during play must be as per the new regulations issued by B.A.I. Advertising on the
clothing is allowed as per B.W.F. rules.
5. Yonex brand shuttlecocks, approved by MBA will be provided.
6. Players must not leave the tournament hall without checking the fixtures of their next match, put
on the notice board. A chart displaying match numbers only will be displayed on the board as
daily fixtures. In case of any doubts / difficulties, do not hesitate to contact Hon. Referee.
Subsequent complaints will not be entertained.
6. A list of Hotels & its tariffs are enclosed herewith for your reference. Players, Managers, Coaches
etc. may directly contact these hotels for their own bookings.
7. Invited players shall be provided facilities as per MBA regulations.
