Kiribati Provident Fund


Chief Executive Officer

A highly credentialed and respected CEO is sought to lead the


Kiribati Provident Fund.
He or she will have a record of senior leadership in provident fund,
pension or superannuation funds, of creating and fulfilling a
strategic vision, of change initiation and management, and
demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders in a meaningful
and respectful manner.
The ideal candidate will be a person of integrity and ethical standing,
results oriented, with an ability to build joint ownership for outcomes
and momentum at all levels across the organisation, and with
excellent leadership and communication skills.

Specific Responsibilities
 Liaise and work with the Chairman and the Board

 Implement the change programme drafted for the Kiribati


Provident Fund

 Assist the Board in widening services to members in line with the


Fund’s “provident” orientation in a manner that is consistent with
the Fund’s state of development and financial circumstances

 Represent the Fund to Government and the community

 Provide leadership and management

 Develop the culture of the organisation by building on the current


culture, identifying areas for cultural growth and performance
improvement, and embedding and ensuring fiduciary
responsibility, openness and transparency as cultural hallmarks

 Strengthen the Fund’s financial management and investment


management capabilities

 Act as a role model and mentor for the Fund’s current executive

 Constantly review the Fund business, the environment within


which it operates and develop appropriate responses to maximise
opportunities

 Ensure effective risk management strategies are in place across


all areas of the Fund
 Execute and implement the decisions of the Board in a timely
manner

 Provide secretariat duties for Board meetings

The person that we are seeking must possess the following qualifications & skills

 Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business Administration.


 Minimum of 5 years experienceyears’ experience in a senior leadership role in provident
fund, pension or superannuation funds
 Must be a person of high integrity and ethical standing and be committed to transparency
and accountability
 Must have high level analytical skills and ability to apply sound judgment
 Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work
constructively and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
 Must have the ability to share knowledge, build relationships, mentor and transfer skills
 Must be results oriented and have the ability to build joint outcomes and momentum at all
levels of the organisation
 Must be committed to improving systems and processes and building the capacity of co-
workers though mentoring and skills transfer
 Must have proven record of creating and fulfilling a strategic vision, change initiation and
management
 Must have had some experience in investing.

The position will be offered initially for 2 years contract term with possible extension for another
year subject to satisfactory performance.
