and his family, and Pr. Myron.

Garage Sale this year is
on Thursday, July 26th,
in the Fellowship Hall @
St. John’s from 7AM – 5PM. As you are
downsizing or cleaning out, please consider
donating items. We accept all items in good
condition, including working appliances or
furniture. Children’s clothing only will be
accepted (NO adult clothing). Donations may be
dropped off on Tuesday, July 24 from Noon –
5PM or Wednesday, July 25 from 9AM – Noon.
All monies raised will be donated to Bright
Horizons for survivors of domestic violence and

LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF
SCHOOL KITS!
To the children who receive school kits, these
supplies mean the difference between getting an
education or not. Public school is usually free, but in
places where LWR works, even a few required
supplies, like pens and paper, may be more than
many familis can afford. One school kit should
include:
4 -- 70 sheet NOTEBOOKS (wide or college
ruled)
1 RULER with inches and centimeters
1 PENCIL SHARPENER
1 blunt end SAFETY SCISSORS
5 unsharpened #2 PENCILS with erasers (secure
together with rubber band)
5 black or blue ballpoint PENS (no gel ink –
secure with a rubber band)
1 box of 16-24 CRAYONS
1 – 2 ½” ERASER
School bags have already been purchased. Donated
items may be placed in the washtub in the west hall.

sanctuary where you can view and update any
information on a printed directory. Please initial
if you agree that the information is already
complete. Thank you for your assistance in this
huge task!

Pantry continues seeking
our help with stocking
the shelves. Your
donations of crackers
(all kinds), beans (all
kinds), canned dinners,
pancake mix and syrup, Hamburger & Tuna
Helper are of great help. Just a reminder:
garden produce is also accepted!
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR WAYS TO
HELP DURING WORSHIP?
We are in need of Worship Assistants,
powerpoint operators, ushers, sound
technicians, coffee hour hosts, etc. It takes
approximately 45 volunteers for the 3
services each weekend. Consider helping
in one area once a month. Join a friend in
greeting, or try serving coffee one weekend.
We can always find a place for helping
hands! Consider how you could help and
leave a note on today’s Registration Slip.

 POLAR BLAST VBS BEGINS
NEXT WEEK!
The Three Coolest Days of Summer!
At Polar Blast VBS, kids will go on an icy
cool adventure where they’ll discover that
Jesus will always love them: this VBS is
filled with incredible Bible-learning
experiences kids see, hear, and touch.
Team-building games, cool Bible songs, and
multisensory Bible adventures are just a few
of the activities that help faith flow into real
life. Caution: Things might get a little messy,
so have them wear play clothes and sturdy
shoes!
Look for Jolene in the back of the
sanctuary between services to get your
free music CD or digital download by
registering early today. First come, first
serve! Kids can listen to the songs they
will be hearing and singing at VBS.

meaningful sessions:
Penquin Preschool Leader
Lead an enthusiastic team of Crew Leaders
who will guide preschoolers in unforgettable
Bible Adventures, high-energy games, and age-
appropriate craft projects each day.
Frozen Fun & Games Leader ( Mon & Tues
only)
Lead crews in the fun of Penguin Pass, Ice
Toss, Polar Bear Tag, Quick Cool-Down, Silly
Seals and Dodge Snowball. Each game has
special wrap-up questions to help reinforce the
daily Bible lessons.
Craft Project Leader
Kids will make adorable penguins to give as
gifts to the ministry workers in our church. In
addition, kids can have fun making one-of–a-
kind snowflakes, puff painting, and grow snow
to name a few.
Crew Leaders
You are the important people who guide and
keep your group participating in the fun. You get
to have as much fun as your whole group!
We will have pizza and leader training on
Tuesday, July 24th at 5:30 p.m. in the
Community Room downstairs. Jolene will
have all materials in the PreK and Kindergarten
Sunday School rooms so that you can set up.
Please RSVP so Jolene knows how much pizza
to order!
The dates for Polar Blast are
Monday, July 30th, Tuesday, July 31st and
Wednesday, August 1st. We will have
supper starting at 5:30 p.m. and do activities
6:00 to 8:15 p.m.
