Part II: Reflection

CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?

The field experience for this course was the Technology Planning Project which consisted of
a shared vision paper, SWOT analysis and action/evaluation plan. In completing these
assignments, I learned that in order to be an effective technology leader there are several
responsibilities I must engage in. I must research, best practices to assist teachers in the
implementation of technology in their classrooms. I must lead the collaborative development
of the vision, mission, and beliefs of my school.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)

An effective technology leader, or facilitator must have knowledge, skills and disposition
necessary to be a motivator for change. In order to complete this project, I needed to be
aware of the different types of school-wide, faculty, grade-level, and subject area strengths
and weaknesses using a needs assessment. Learning these different facts about my school
assisted me in completing all assignments. As a leader, I must continue to research and
deepen my knowledge on the NET-T and NET-S standards.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?

The completion of this field experience impacted school improvement and faculty
development, and student learning at my school. A technology based shared vision will be
created to support the use of technology at Center. Stakeholders will complete surveys to
give suggestions on what could be improved. All stakeholders will collaboratively work
together to ensure the goals of the shared vision are met.
