Another Eric Schneiderman Hit and Run

On a day where D.A. Donovan has earned the endorsement of the New York Post
for Attorney General due in large part to his record of reform that stands in stark
contrast to State Senator Schneiderman’s 12 years as a card-carrying member of
the Albany cesspool, it’s expected that Team Distraction Schneiderman would once
again attempt to distort the truth.
When Albany politicians are on the ropes, it’s typical that they cross the line of
political spin into outright lies. For example, just a few months ago when State
Senator Schneiderman and his driver struck another vehicle and caused thousands
of dollars in damage, did he immediately notify the authorities? Of course not.
Like a typical slimy Albany politician, he instructed his team to stonewall, then
lie and cover-up, then when finally confronted with the truth, he ‘fessed up. For
State Senator Schneiderman to offer morality and ethical lectures - the State
Senator who orchestrated the scheme to bring Hiram Monserrate back into the
Democratic caucus and install Pedro Espada as the Majority Leader, and who
further promises to give out annexes in the AG’s office to special interests- is the
height of hypocrisy.
All of the allegations in the article in question actually occurred under the watch
of Dan's predecessor as district attorney, who ironically was of the same political
party as State Senator Schneiderman. Why didn’t the senator call for an ethics
investigation into the conduct of his fellow Democrat at the time all of these
allegations took place (most having taken place almost two decades ago)? The
answer is obvious: to do so at the time was not politically expedient for State
Senator Schneiderman.
The people of Richmond County elected Dan Donovan –twice- to clean up the
corruption that was taking place before his tenure, just as the voters of the state of
New York will elect him to clean up the corruption that has taken place due in large
part to State Senator Schneiderman and his cronies.
In regard to the employee who supposedly went to Florida and engaged in
campaign activities, the facts show he was not under Dan Donovan’s supervision.
However, a number of state employees on the taxpayer’s dime were under Team
Schneiderman’s supervision, working to keep their favorite Albany politician in
contention in the recent Democratic primary. (City Hall News 9/7/10, click here)
Finally, we acknowledge State Senator Schneiderman’s strong expertise regarding
taking money from shady characters who are under investigation. The following are
just a few examples that prove when it comes to the subject of taking donations
from crooks, the senator is in a class of his own:

· State Senator Schneiderman took $7,500 from a man who pled

guilty to tax evasion, Mel E. or Menachem E. Lifshitz. The money was
never returned after the guilty plea. (NY Post 11/21/08, click here and here).

· Most recently, State Senator Schneiderman took $55,900 from

the national PAC of SEIU, whose Executive Director is under federal
investigation. (NY Post9/29/10, click here and here).
Overwhelming evidence proves Team Schneiderman will not let the truth, ethics or
integrity stand in the way of maintaining their grip on Albany. Surely, the corrupt
politicians and shady special interests will stop at nothing to help State Senator
Schneiderman succeed. However, District Attorney Donovan has the utmost faith
that the people of New York will prove that these forces of the status quo will be
handily defeated in November.
