Head Coach

Ryan Miller ​coachryan@cfyntigersharks.com

Ryan Miller became the head coach of the Tigersharks at the beginning of the 2017-2018
season. However, he’s not new to the Tigersharks, as he swam with the team for 4 years in
high school. Ryan is currently the head coach of the Stow-Munroe Falls High School Swim
Team, as well. Prior to that, he was the head coach for Tallmadge High School Swim Team.
He has also been head coach for the Tallmadge Marlins Swim team for 9 years, leading the
team to 8 championship wins in the Splash League.

Ryan has swam with Tallmadge Marlins, Water


Works Swim Club, CFYN Tigersharks, Cuyahoga
Falls High School, and the University of Akron
Swim Club. His favorite event is the 200 IM. He
was a team captain for the Cuyahoga Falls High
School swim team during the 2008-2009 season.
He was also All NOC Conference in 2007-2008
and 2008-2009. Ryan was the CFHS MVP in
2009 and had a 4 year letter achievement. Ryan
qualified for districts in 2007, 2008, and 2009. He
was also on the UA Swim Club National Team and
was in the U.S. Masters National Top 10 in 2016.

Ryan graduated from the University of Akron in


2013 with bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration. He’s currently the Aquatics
Director at the Riverfront YMCA and serves as the
secretary for NEO YMCA Swim League Board.
Ryan has developed a strong advocacy for water
safety. He also enjoys helping with leadership
development and working with the Autism Swim
Program.
Assistant Coach
Dale Craddock ​dcraddock@ameritech.net

Dale Craddock began coaching for the CFYN


Tigersharks in 1993. As head coach he led the
team to NEO YMCA Championships in 2001, 2004,
2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
Dale is also an assistant coach for Walsh Jesuit
High School.

Dale began swimming in 1962 for the Cuyahoga


Falls YMCA, he also swam for Water Works Swim
Club, Cuyahoga Falls High School, and Kent State
University. While at Cuyahoga Falls High School,
he was a district butterfly champion.

Dale married his wife Kathy in 1981 and has three daughters. He enjoys traveling with his
family, as well as golfing and hiking.

Assistant Coach
Vanja Dezelic ​vdezelic@gmail.com

Vanja Dezelic has been a CFYN coach since 2015.


Together with Coach Dale and the rest of the coaching
team, Vanja has led CFYN to a great showing at NEO Y
League and Divisional Championships. Previously, he
was the Head Age Group Coach for HEAT.

Vanja was born in Zagreb, Croatia and began swimming


competitively at 10. He was a Croatian National
Champion and was a member of the Croatian National
Swim Team. He continued to compete in many
European Championships and meets and continued his
swimming career in United States beginning in 1997. He
was a state champion in North Dakota and also went to
swim in college at Missouri University of Science and
Technology from 1999-2002. He competed at NCAA
Division II Nationals all four years and earned
All-American Awards. In 2014, he was inducted to
Missouri S&T Sports Hall of Fame. While there he
earned his doctorate in Mining Engineering and Geophysics.
Assistant Coach
Peter Nauman ​pnauman@neo.rr.com

Peter Nauman has been with the CFYN Tigersharks as an assistant


coach for 16 years. He has also coached with a large USA team in
Peoria, IL, various local clubs in Peoria, IL, and was an assistant
coach at Bradley University. Peter can mostly be found coaching the
Tigersharks’ Beginner and Black level practices, but also coaches up
to the high school level.

Coach Peter has swam for Peoria Area YMCA, Peoria Area Water
Wizards, Metamora Swim Club, Southern Illinois University All Stars,
Bradley University, and Ohio Masters Swimming. His favorite event is
the 200 butterfly.

Assistant Coach
Megan McDonough ​mcdonome13@gmail.com

Megan McDonough joined the CFYN Tigersharks as an


assistant coach at the beginning of the 2017-2018 season. She
was a swimmer for the team for around 10 years, however.
She was also an assistant coach for Cuyahoga Falls HIgh
School in 2013 and is the head coach for the Silver Lake
Country Club swim team.

Megan has been swimming for over 22 years. She has swam
for Waterworks Swim Club, CFYN Tigersharks, Cuyahoga Falls
High School, and Mount Union. As a Tigershark, she competed
at Zones multiple times, qualified for YMCA Nationals in 2005.
During her time with Cuyahoga Falls HIgh School, she earned
her varsity letter all 4 years and qualified for districts 3 years.
She enjoys swimming distance events and backstroke.

Megan is a school speech pathologist. She enjoys working with kids, so coaching the kids
during age group practices is a great fit. She loves to share her passion with the kids on the
team. She also spends time traveling and attending concerts. She likes to spend time outside
hiking, boating, water skiing, and playing with her puppy.
Assistant Coach
Monica Sincel ​monicasincel@gmail.com

Monica Sincel joined the CFYN Tigersharks in June


2017. She has also been a coach with the University of
Akron Women’s Swim and Dive Team. Coach Monica
has swam with the Tallmadge Marlins, FAST, Theodore
Roosevelt High School Swimming & Diving, and
University of Mount Union Swimming & Diving.

While a swimmer for Theodore Roosevelt High school,


Monica was a Senior Captain. She was also a District
Qualifier in 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 200 medley
relay, and 200 free relay. She qualified for State in the
100 butterfly, as well. She was a Northeast Aquatic
Conference (NEAC) Champion in the 100 butterfly.
When she attended the University of Mount Union, she qualified for the A Final in the 100
butterfly, 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships in
2014, 2015, and 2016 and is a 2 time OAC Champion in the 100 butterfly.

When Coach Monica is not coaching, she likes to travel, play with her kitten, Peeta. She also
loves orcas.

Assistant Coach
Aaron Balazs ​Aaronpbalazs@gmail.com

Aaron Balazs has been with the CFYN Tigersharks since 2016.
He is the co-head coach of the Tallmadge Marlins with Ryan
Miller, and has been with the team since 2009. He has also
been an Assistant Coach at Archbishop Hoban High School
since 2014.

Coach Aaron has swam with the Tallmadge Marlins, Tallmadge


High School, Westminster College, and Kent State Masters
Swimming. His favorite events are freestyle sprints. Aaron’s
interests when not on a pool deck include reading, history,
teaching, biking, lifting, video games, friends, family, and tacos.
Assistant Coach
Will Turnbull ​willturnbull7.0@gmail.com

Will Turnbull began coaching with the Tigersharks during the


2013-2014 season, but had swam with the team for 10 years
prior to that. He’s the head coach for the Water Works Swim
Club.

Will has swam for the Bedford Battle Sharks, CFYN


Tigersharks, Water Works Swim Club, Cuyahoga Falls High
School, and University of Mount Union. Will holds records for
both CFYN and CFHS. As a Tigershark, he qualified for 8 Zone
Championship meets and 2 YMCA National Championship
meets. He was a 4 year varsity swimmer and 2 year captain for
CFHS, where he was a State qualifier as the butterfly leg of the
medley relay and 4 time district qualifier in butterfly and
backstroke, and a NOC MVP.

Will is currently attending the University of Mount Union, where


he is working on a double major in Art Education and Graphic Design.

Assistant Coach
Lily Lewis ​tigerlillian2000@gmail.com

Lily Lewis began coaching with the CFYN


Tigersharks during the 2016-2017 season. She also
is an assistant coach for the Water Works Swim
Club during the summer. She was also a CFYN
swimmer for nearly a decade and was a 5 time Zone
qualifier. She swam for Water Works Swim Club and
Cuyahoga Falls High School, as well, where she was
a 3 time district qualifier. Her favorite event is the
500 free.

Lily will be attending Kent State University starting in


Fall 2018, where she will be majoring in Business
Administration. She also enjoys photography.
Assistant Coach
Nick Spicer ​n7spicer@yahoo.com

Nick Spicer joined the CFYN Tigersharks


coaching staff during the 2017-2018 season.
He can be found coaching the Beginner or
Junior levels at practice. He is also a
volunteer coach for Kent Roosevelt’s swim
team and an Assistant Coach for the Kent
Seariders.

Coach Nick has swam for Water Works


Swim Club, Hudson HEAT, Kent Seariders,
and Kent Roosevelt High School. At Kent
Roosevelt High School he was a District
Qualifier in the 200 medley relay. His
favorite stroke is the backstroke.

Nick likes to workout and go hiking in his free


time. He’s excited to be with the Tigersharks
for another great season.
