1. Improving the landscape along the road side and ensuring its
diversity
10 years ago, our founder president donated their 18 acre family land to
this NGO and now we are farming on total 30 acre land which helps
students to perform practical education. Many part of this land was
infertile and some of it was on nature dependent farming. Today we
have completely transformed the face of this entire land and we now
take horticulture crops with help of tissue culture such as Mangoes,
banana, Pomegranate, Guava, fig, Indian Gooseberry.
3) Matoshri Primary School, Jalgaon.
Was established in 1999 with self help, Finance and hard work, Initially
Balwadi Classes, started, gradually it reached up to 7th standard. Needy
students are given free uniforms, Text Book, School bag etc.
Well constructed with a huge play ground, computer room etc, school
celebrate all type of Cultural / Social / Educational Program and many
carrier activities like festival / Birth Anniversary, Science Exhibition,
Parent Teacher meet medical check up and summer camp are organized.
We started our activities the day we arrived at the sanstha. On the first
day itself, the sanstha had organized an Introductory session in a big
classroom wherein the children were told about us and we had to see the
responses of children. We had to check how responsive they were.
We were pretty excited right from the first day, it was something we had
never done before.
As we entered the big classroom for the introductory session, the chaos
stopped and whispers took its place. There was silence followed by
some Murmur coming from the back and the corners. As soon as we
were introduced to them of being teachers for the next few days, the
students started clapping. They were pretty happy that someone is going
to replace their old teachers so that they can flee from doing their
homeworks for a couple of days atleast. The environment of the
classroom was at par. It had a lot of energy and positivity in it.
Mr. Jayprakash Baviskar had asked Mr. Multani to take care of us. Mr.
Multani gave us quick small tour of the school campus.
The school was comparatively a bigger school than I had imagined. I
thought of it to be a school of just a few classrooms but it was a 3
floored building with a structure of Ground+2.
Mr. Multani took us to the centre of the building, there was a big lawn in
the Centre. The lawn was fresh green and the fragrance of freshly cut
grass filled our nostrils with dopamine. He then took us to the canteen, it
was a small on with an occupancy of 10 people at a time. It was a place
where the students and the staff dine. There we met Mrs. Pradnya
Multani, his wife. She told us about the food which was going to be
served for the next couple of days and explained us about the food
timings.
Breakfast – 7AM
Lunch – 12AM
Dinner – 8PM
Our timings were arranged prior to that of the students and the staff. Our
stay was arranged in a close nearby. The place just had a ceiling fan, but
it got the atmosphere much cooler than a normal cooler would do. The
breeze from farms was directly hitting the walls and partly entering the
windows. It helped to sleep so much better.
The very next day, we were given schedule about the classes we had to
take. It was a shuffled schedule. The team was divided in groups of 2.
Azam and Varsha formed a team and so were others divided. A ratio of
1:1 Boy : Girl was maintained.
2 people had to teach a class. The schedule was such that we would be
seeing the same class only once or twice.
We got back to our work after sipping the tea. As soon as me and Vishal
proceeded to take the class, we were greeted by a warm Welcome by the
class. The response was Overwhelming. We personally took everyone’s
introduction. Many of them were Shy. We started talking about random
topics and about the topics that had to be covered. We didn’t expect the
students to be so enthusiastic about learning. We were teaching a 4th
standard class, the English was Lower English. They had 2 textbooks –
An English textbook and a Grammar one.
We started teaching with the English Textbook. We explained them the
stories that were Chapters for them.
We simplified the chapters in such a way that they would understand it
very easily and it would fit in their minds so as it would help them recall
during the exams.
The story telling was fun because the class was very responsive. There
was a 2 way interaction. The class was responding well, as much as we
could have understood from their headshakes. We concluded the story
with a strong Moral. We explained the Moral by giving life examples, so
that the children will remember and understand the morals better.
After we were done, there was an exercise below the chapter which had
some questions under it. We had a good discussion on the questions and
answers. We told them how to write a good paper. We explained them
the importance of having a good handwriting. They were patient enough
to take that well. The class ended on a really good note. We asked if
someone can sing, pratik was an active participant, he came in the front
to sing. He sang really well. We all clapped for him and were full of
Praises.
The next day arrived and this time we decided to go with the Grammar.
Most of the students knew the basic tenses, we still explained them the
basics such a way that they would remember it and get good at it. The
basics of articles were taught. The time flew really fast. We didn’t
expect it to end so fast. We left for the snack time soon.
The very next day we wanted to teach more grammar to the students but
the class and slot was given to some other group. We were asked to
teach English to the students of Standard VI. We made them understand
the techniques of solving the comprehensions. They got good at it just a
few hours.
Time flew very fast. It was just now we were having a good time
teaching and the last day already came.
On the last day we had no class to teach, just a small 2-minute talk in
every class we taught. A talk about education, age, life and aims. We
had to go in every class to see the children we met. We were happy to
see that the kids were satisfied with our teachings. The heart was getting
heavier with every class passing by. It was a very short time, still we had
so much to share, cherish and stay positive.
The day came when we had to go back to our respective cities. Before
leaving, we went on a tour of our village and the nearby villages. We got
in the Jeep and sat comfortably, getting ready for the scenic views. The
jeep started and Mr. Pranjal decided to take us to the farms owned by the
Sanstha first and then the rest later. It took just 10mins for us to get up at
the spot where he wanted to show us. The scenery was beautiful. The
Sun was coming above us, with a cold breeze hitting our faces with such
a beautiful view. The farm of the santha was a 30-acre farm and there
was a river flowing from the middle of the farm. It would had been the
first time I saw such a view where the river is crossing the farm. Mr.
Pranjal said, they never face any water issues because of the continuous
water supply right in the farm. We then went to a local restaurant which
served poha.
The poha was very spicy but very tasty in its own way. We then
continued our journey to other neighboring villages. Soon the sun was
above us and we needed some rest, so we left for some nap. In the
evening we thanked Mr. Jayprakash Baviskar for giving us such an
opportunity and thanked the whole staff as well. We gifted the children
notebooks and pencils because we loved the journey with them. Soon
the sanstha got us to a bus stop and we left for Jalgaon. We had a train
from Jalgaon city the very next day.
The idea of educating them was not as pleasing as the reality was.

young generation. It has been constructed in a18000 square feet plot
