For other details refer to Chapter 5.11 (“Single Line Diagram”)

3. Generator MTB

3.1 Generator power outlet, generator neutral outlet

The produced electrical energy is expected to be led from the Generator through Generator
Circuit Breaker to the Unit Transformer by isolated phase busbars (IPB) or MV cables and
through unit auxiliary transformer to home consumption.
Connection to bus-ducts shall be ensured by coupling flanges.

Generator power outlet is common with generator neutral outlet with the grounding for
generator neutral point. Supposed location of the Neutral Outlet is on side of the Generator.
Grounding of Generator Neutral Point is led through the grounding transformer with resistor
located on the secondary side.

Degree of protection: IP54 / IP00

Short circuit capacity: 40kA/1s (will be confirmed later)
Ambient temperature: +5…40°C

4. Generator Protection System

The protection system consists of two terminals (main and backup) with independent power
supply.
Signaling and summary protection alarms and trips are connected hardwired. Signals and
alarms from specific protection functions are transmitted by serial communication of one of
the native protocol (Profibus DP) or HW.
SW for simple setting and evaluating disturbance recorder is included in Supplier’s scope of
Equipment
Degree of protection: IP31 / IP00
Ambient temperature: +5..40°C

5. Generator Measuring and Synchronisation System

Synchronization of the generator breaker is provided by automatic synchronizer with

guarding synchrocheck relay. Manual synchronization is possible with using the
synchrocheck relay.
Measured quantities:
Generator’s current in all 3 phases
Generator’s voltage in all 3 phases
Frequency
Generator’s power factor
Generator’s active power
Generator’s reactive power
Measuring of the values above is ensured by a multimeter with digital display and equipped
with a communication card (Modbus RTU or Profibus DP) which ensures transmitting the
values into dedicated control system (DCS or TCS). There is an independent transducer 4-
20mA of active power for TCS.
