Math
The Math curriculum includes the following Common Core State
Standards: Ratios & Proportional Relationships, The Number System,
Expressions and Equations, Geometry, Statistics and Probability.
There will also be a review of Basic Skills. The title of the student’s
Math book is My Math by McGraw-Hill.
It is important that your child be provided with the proper
environment and tools at home to do his or her homework.
Calculators are required on selected problems. Students need to be
proficient with the calculator because they are used on the end of the
year State Test
(SBAC).

There will be math homework EVERY day and it must be turned

in on the day it is due (most of the time it will be the following day).
Homework can be accessed by visiting
https://roomsanchez.weebly.com from any computer, tablet, or
cellular device that has internet access. At times, a hard-copy may be
assigned from the book which will also be posted online. If internet
access is a concern, please send a note with your child informing Mr.
Sanchez.

Absences:
Each student is responsible for the day’s assignment when an
absence occurs. Please submit any assignments the day after the
return to school. Otherwise it is considered late.

To help your child succeed, it is essential that we work together

towards a successful academic year. Stress to your child that
attendance is very important, and strongly encourage your child to
study and do his/her homework each night. Our hard work and
positive attitude will make for a successful year. Please sign and
return the second portion of this letter – it is one of your child’s
homework assignments. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Armando Sanchez
