Public transport needs to play a central role supporting
growth in the south. At present less than 10% of people
in the south use public transport to get to work.
We need a significant shift towards
people using public transport, or walking
and cycling. To achieve this we are
looking at a range of strategic public

transport improvements: • Electrification of the rail network from Papakura to

• New train stations at Paerata, Drury, Drury West and
