ABOUT THE SEMINAR
The seminar is organized to discuss the cutting
edge research & to learn about the challenges and
opportunities in geotechnical engineering. The
seminar will be aimed at promoting ground
improvement concepts and applications, need for
specialization in Geotechnical Earthquake
Engineering and addressing Geoenvironmental
issues.
PURPOSE & BACKGROUND
 To familiarize participants with the contribution
of geotechnical engineers in order to encourage
economic and social progress without
jeopardizing the equilibrium of the planet.

1-Prof. Dr. Asad-ur-Rehman Khan
Professor & Chairman of Civil Engineering
Department, NED University of Engineering &
Technology. He has over 22 years of experience in
the field of civil engineering. In the field of
Geotechnical Engineering he has exclusive expertise
in soils and foundations problems and methods of
treatment.
2-Prof. Dr. Abdul Samad Khan
Senior research fellow, Department of Civil
Engineering, NED University of Engineering &
Technology. He has over 45 years of experience in
the field of Geotechnical Engineering with research
in Soil Foundation-interaction.
3-Prof. Muhammad Masood Rafi
Professor and Chairman Department of Earthquake
Engineering, NED University of Engineering &
Technology. He has over 15 years of experience in
the field of structural engineering. His current
research interest is in behaviour of FRP reinforced
concrete structures and Earthquake Engineering.
4-Prof. Dr. Adnan Qadir
