C.S.U.F. the Best Class Ever:

Starting Strong

Dear Families,
Welcome to the beginning of sixth grade! The last month has been an amazing time in CSUF. WE have started
to build great relationships that I look forward to growing over the school year. Every day I like to try to document
what is happening in our classroom and share it with you on our class website: msholtcsuf.weebly.com. Each of
your students have started to share and incorporate themselves into our class culture.
This week are our first benchmark assessments. Students need to be at school on Monday and Tuesday to
participate. Benchmarks are important for several reasons. First, benchmarks are a replica of the CAASPP assessments
at the end of the year. By participating we are able to see progress and areas where students need to focus to be
successful at the end of the year. Also, benchmarks will be a reassessment opportunity for students who need to
continue practicing our first unit on Geometry. Finally, this will help them to persevere during high-stakes testing
throughout the year. The state assessments are rigorous and we want our students to do their best!
Thank you for everything you do with your student to help set them up for success! We are currently growing
our classroom libraries to support independent reading. If you have any old books at home from 3rd-8th grade level
please consider donating them to the school.

Best,

Ms. Holt :) gholt@stem-prep.org

Queridas familias,

Mejor,

Ms. Holt :) gholt@stem-prep.org

Movie Review:
The movie that I think you should watch is called “Ferdinand.” I really
recommend this movie because it’s practically for any type of age and if you like
to watch funny and kind of sad movies then this is the movie for you. The first
reason why.

Movie Review

A good movie that I recommend is The Book of Life. The book of
life was a sad movie because it was about a bet of which of the
two kids would marry this girl that they both like.
