(EMU) by supporting euro asset accounting and transactions. Create reporting sets of books using
the Multiple Reporting Currencies feature, which allows you to view and report on your fixed assets
transactions in multiple currencies.

Page 1
With the Security by Book feature, you can secure data access by depreciation book. You can also
create a flexible hierarchy of asset security based on department, region, country, or any
organizational entity in your global enterprise.

Support the tax calculation and reporting requirements for all regions in which you conduct business.
Comply with statutory depreciation requirements in any industry or location by tailoring your
depreciation calculation through the use of flexible formulas. Also, address European and Latin
American reporting requirements by maintaining your CIP assets in your tax books.

Drive Enterprise Profitability

Oracle Assets streamlines traditional administrative functions resulting in lower cost and increased
level of service. Using depreciation rules rather than preprogrammed logic, Oracle Assets can be
tailored to meet your specific enterprise needs. Choose from any of the hundreds of depreciation
rules that are delivered with Oracle Assets, define any unique depreciation rules, define any number
of depreciation books, and meet your financial and tax reporting requirements.

Freed from administrative tasks, your fixed assets administrators can focus on more value-added
activities that contribute to the corporate strategy. Select the optimal depreciation strategy for existing
as well as future assets with the What-If Depreciation Analysis functionality. Simulate what-if
depreciation scenarios before assets are added into the system.

Derive maximum tax benefits and avoid paying unnecessary taxes with Oracle Assets. Define
unlimited number of independent tax books, so you can choose a different depreciation strategy for
each tax authority. You can also forecast tax depreciation simultaneously on several books to help
you choose the optimal approach for your company. Gain tax advantage by accelerating write-off’s
using Bonus Depreciation.

Enterprise profitability is driven by enterprise productivity. Oracle Assets plays a key role in
increasing internal efficiencies. Create assets based on information from Oracle Payables, Oracle
Projects or any non-Oracle feeder system using the Mass Additions interface. Streamline the flow of
transactions such as transfer, reclassification, disposal, capitalization from external systems using
Transaction APIs and mass transaction interfaces. Save time and effort by entering and saving
future transactions that are automatically processed in the effective period. Process multiple
transactions from the Asset Workbench window: From searching for assets by descriptive detail,
assignment, invoice, and lease information, to reviewing financial, assignment and other detailed
information to reviewing purchases and retiring assets. Additionally, use Oracle Application Desktop
Integrator to create variable format reports and publish them directly to the internet.

Further productivity gains can be achieved by performing transactions using flexible selection criteria
that will enable you to add, transfer, change, reclass, revalue and retire groups of assets. Administer
repair and service schedules along with other maintenance-related information efficiently and
systematically with the Asset Maintenance tracking feature. Leverage the power of the internet by
setting email alerts to notify employees who are responsible for coordinating maintenance
processes. Use the asset maintenance information to streamline your procure-to-pay and asset
management strategies.

Plan for asset maintenance to occur at appropriate times or at specific intervals.

Oracle Assets makes it easy for you to maintain an asset inventory that supports your balance sheet.
Flexible location codes help you locate assets quickly and learn which assets reside at a specific
location or are assigned to a person or custodian. The Physical Inventory interface allows you to
perform physical inventory of your fixed assets on a periodic basis. Automate the tedious inventory
process by scanning barcodes with handheld devices and importing inventory results via Oracle
Application Desktop Integrator. You can reconcile your asset inventory, report on missing assets,
and take corrective management action. Oracle Assets also provides reports used to inform fixed
assets manager of additions, transfers, retirements, or other changes, ensuring timely and accurate
asset inventory data. Or, you can set email alerts to automatically notify manager of such changes.
Oracle Assets also enables you to efficiently manage the risk of loss and damage to your assets by
tracking their insurance values, enabling timely and accurate insurance claims in the event of a loss.
By streamlining risk management processes, Oracle Assets drives down the total cost of ownership
of your assets.

Dramatically improve your productivity with easier access to critical information. Oracle Assets’
feature-rich graphical user interface is easy to learn and packed with accelerators for power users.
The intuitive windowing, mouse actions, icons, and built-in drilldown allow transactions and inquiries
to flow naturally and quickly.

Close Your Books Faster

Oracle Assets simplifies your accounting close process. You can run depreciation and create journal
entries multiple times within an accounting period. Verify depreciation results with other accounting
information using the Financial Inquiry. Use Oracle Assets’ T-Accounts to view each asset
transaction. Take advantage of Oracle General Ledger’s drilldown capabilities to view the associated
sub-ledger detail for your assets related journal entries. Last minute assets adjustments are
facilitated by rolling back depreciation or journal entries and making required corrections to Oracle
Assets. Assets received but not invoiced can be added before period end depreciation calculation.
This proactive depreciation management process speeds up the period end close process.

Implement Advanced Business Strategies

Mergers and acquisitions are among the top business strategies in today’s competitive environment.
Oracle Assets calculates asset deductions in a short tax year, complying with statutory depreciation
requirements based on the Simplified Method as referred to by the US Revenue Procedures.
Formula-Based Depreciation gives you the flexibility to define formulas instead of rate tables to
calculate depreciation expense in a short tax year. Assets acquired from different mergers and
acquisitions can be added to the same tax book, eliminating the need for data consolidation.

Page 4
Managing your assets efficiently is essential in a rapidly changing organization. Oracle Assets
manages your construction-in-process projects from inception to completion. You can track the
expenditures you incur during a construction project’s lifecycle and capitalize them upon completion.
Forecast capital spending, project depreciation expenses and track other source information related
to capital projects. Use the enhanced Mass Transfer functionality to update asset location, ownership
and distribution information. Take advantage of the high-low range capability on any expense
account segment to transfer your assets between companies, cost centers, or other organizational
entity.

Make lease payments directly from Oracle Assets.

Streamline your information flow by maintaining lease payment schedules within Oracle Assets. Our
integration with Oracle Payables means lease payments can be made quickly and accurately each
period.

When planning depreciation strategies, use the What-If functionality to view results of different
depreciation scenarios. You can analyze and optimize these scenarios for existing assets and assets
that are not yet added to Oracle Assets. Change depreciation parameters any time using Mass
Reclassification to match your depreciation strategies.

Perform ad-hoc queries on your assets on the web with Asset Inquiry. Utilize the advanced and
flexible search criteria and drill-down capabilities to find any information about your assets in the
