It is our pleasure to submit the report of drug rehabilitation by the students of BPH 6TH semester
of Koshi Health and science campus, Biratnagar, Nepal.

At the outset, we would like to express our heartily thanks to our parents by whom we are in this
world. We are grateful to spiritual invisible GOD for creating me as human being and giving us
there blessing throughout our whole life.

We express our sincere gratitude to our college KOSHI HEALTH AND SCIENCE CAMPUS
We also extend our thanks to our subject teacher Santosh Shah, Coordinator of our college Mr.
Sudan Poudel and campus chief Mr. Surya Narayan Chaudhary and Mr. Roshan poudel for
providing us proper guidelines and who has always serve as a motivator, before going to field
and helped us on visiting the drug rehabilitation centre. They had given us there value valuable
time and precious suggestions.
Introduction

Rehabilitation is the processes of helping an individual achieve the highest level of function,
independence, and quality of life possible. Rehabilitation does not reverse or undo the damage
caused by disease or trauma, but rather helps restore the individual to optimal health, functioning
and well-being.

Drug rehabilitation is the process of medical or psychotherapeutic treatment for dependency on


psychoactive substances such as alcohol, prescription drugs, and street drugs such as cocaine,
heroine or amphetamines. The general intent is to enable the patient to control substance
dependence. If present, and cease substance abuse to avoid the psychological, legal, financial,
social, and physical consequences that can be caused, especially by extreme abuse. Treatment
includes medication for depression or other disorders, counseling by experts and sharing of
experience with other addicts.

NEW LIFE FELLOWSHIP:

New life fellowship is a drug rehabilitation centre in Biratnagar which is established in 2067BS
and is located in Panchali Tole behind Mahendra Morang Adarsha Multiple Campus. There are
management, Finance, Account section. There are 14 board member in the rehabilitation. The
organization has capacity of 40 victim .There are doctors, 1 counselor and 2backup counselor.
The individual planning is done in the rehabilitation and evaluation is done accordingly. There
are 3 security guard. The organization need atleast 1.5 lakh monthly to run. Santi Ram Dahal is
the consultant of the rehabilitation and Kishor Adhikari is warden, Amole Adhikari as day/night
officer, Dev Kumar Taming as counselor.
GOAL

To observe the overall condition of the victim in the Drug Rehabilitation Centre.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

To know about the Drug Rehabilitation Centre and the condition of the victim.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

 To know about the department and section of the organization.


 To understand about the staffing, planning, coordination pattern of the rehabilitation
centre
 To ask on daily activities of the victim.
 To know about the budgeting process of organization.
 To know about the criteria of admitting the patient.
 To understand about the services which are provided to the victim.
DAILY ACTIVITIES OF THE VICTIM:

They wake up at 5am in the morning then they do their daily activities like brushing,
washing after that they have their breakfast. Then they start their fellowship in which
they talk about the mistakes and help them in correcting it . After that they do the chain
pray and stand pull up class. And also have the input class. After which they have their
lunch time. At 12pm they do step writing class and then step reading class . And after
2pm they share their feelings with each other. They have their teatime at 4pm. They do
their daily rotation at 5:30pm. After that at 5:45pm they do evening walk. And after that
they have dinner and then sleep. There are 8 victims in one room.
It was told by Tarakant Chaudhary of Siraha who is the leader of the group.
DISCUSSION:

We went to the Drug Rehabilitation Centre of Biratnagar dated 8th bhadra 2075. First of
all we took the permission with the chief Shanti Ram Dahal of the centre to interact with
the victim. Then we first started with our introduction and asked with the leader of their
group to tell about their daily activities. After that we did interaction with the consultant,
warden, counselor and day/night officer. We asked them question related to the
organization and the victim. When we asked them questions we came to know that there
are management, finance, administration section. There are 14 executive board members.
There are doctor , 1 counselor and 2 backup and number of staff is 12. Prabin Basnet is
the president of the organization. They select the staffs to those who have who have
worked in the same field and worked for long time. They have opened the rehabilitation
under the permission of Jilla prasasan karyalaya, Griha mantralaya and samagik sanstha.
Individual planning is done in the organization and the evaluation is done on the basis of
recording and daily activities of the victim. Every types of victims are admitted in the
rehabilitation like drug user, injectable, smoker and abnormal. There is capacity of 40
victims in the rehabilitation centre and at present there are 37 victims. The Rehabilitation
centre have direct relationship with the government organization. Monthly they allocate
1.5 lakh to run the organization.

RECOMMENDATION :

 The place was congested and compact, so in order to improve it there must be wide area
for playground , garden etc.
 There was no any facilities for recreational activities, so it must be focused.
 The training on making handicraft should be given so that when they leave this center
they will be able to involve in income generating activities.

CONCLUSION:

After visited to rehabilitation centre, we got to know about the rules and regulation of
rehabilitation centre, victims way of living , the amount allocated for the maintenance of all the
facilities, the way of monitoring and supervising , how they motivate to the victim, the criteria
for admitting victims and many more information regarding rehabilitation centre.
