COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

PUTRAJAYA CAMPUS
SEM II, AY2018/19

PROGRAMME : Bachelor of Electrical Power Engineering (Honours)

Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Honours)

SUBJECT CODE : EEEB393

SUBJECT : Power Electronics Laboratory

_____________________________________________________________________________________

1. INTRODUCTION

The power electronics laboratory emphasises on providing students with a basic understanding of
converters. The experiments in this course have been designed to support/supplement the theories taught in
EEEB393, Power Electronics. The objective of this course is:

a) To provide basic knowledge and understanding of power electronics converters

b) To provide skills in measuring electrical quantities using appropriate instruments

The experiments in this course have been tested. These experiments should not give much problems when
executed properly. Students should read the laboratory manuals before attending a laboratary session.

2. COURSE OUTLINE
Course design:
The course consists of THREE (3) laboratory sessions. You shouls attend all scheduled laboratory sessions.
Attendance will be taken. You MUST attend the laboratory section of which you have been registered
in. You will not be allowed to change sections after Week 3. Make-up laboratory will not be offered

except in the most unusual circumstances and with the proof of a valid reason. You are also expected to be
on time and remain for the duration of the laboratory session, or until you are dimsmissed by your instructor.

If a you come in 10 minutes after the session begins, attendance mark will be deducted.

You are expected to complete the experiments within the allocated time. In order to complete all your work
within the allocated time, you should prepare ahead and outline the procedures before the laboratory session.
You should bring a external storage device (pendrive) to save any experiment results seen from the
oscilloscope.
