I. COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to introduce the students with Computers. In this course the students
will also be introduced with Office automation tools like Word Processing, Spreadsheets,
PowerPoint and usage of Internet. Moreover students will be familiarized Windows XP and its
installation and trouble shooting. This course is important for business students as computers are
widely used in business and from writing business proposal to actual implementation computers
are being used. The course comprises of quizzes, assignments, didactic lectures, and practical
sessions in computer lab.

II. COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of this course students will be able to:


 Make Reports using MS Word
 Write Applications using MS Word
 Make and format Slides using MS PowerPoint
 Perform different mathematical and financial calculations using MS Excel
 Troubleshoot their problems

III. COURSE COMPETENICES:

This course will develop the following competencies among students.


 Ability to use Window XP.
 Ability to install different application software.
 Ability to write reports in MS Word.
 Ability to use MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
