A New Beginning
Local: Core World Talus (Corellian System, Corellian Sector).

Briefing of the World

Talus was one of the Twin Worlds located in the Corellian system that orbited Centerpoint Station,
the other being Tralus, its sister planet. It was one of the five habitable planets in the system, and was
a temperate world very similar to Corellia. It had a wide range of climates and terrain, including
forests, grass plains and mud flats.

Talus and Tralus are independent from the Corellian system, forming their own government. They
are known as the Federation of the Double Worlds or simply by Fed-Dub.

Centerpoint, sendo o outro Tralus, seu planeta irmão. É um dos cinco planetas habitáveis no
sistema, sendo um mundo temperado muito semelhante a Corellia. Ele possui uma grande
variedade de climas e terrenos, incluindo florestas, planícies de grama e pântanos de lama.

Adventure Hook

 An important business man of Talus called Tal’ Zalgur (Twi’lek Male) is given a party in your
property at Dearic City in order to opening his Trade Office. It is an important step after the
Empire fall, because the New Republic (old Rebellion) need hopelessly of vessels in order to
transport food, medication, and people to the far reaches of the Galaxy.

 Two important New Republic members are present at the party to establish future contracts
with the new company (Zalgur Trade Corp). The war hero Colonel Dragen Braxton (Human
Male) and the Senator Rana Stazi (Duros Male).

 With them, two X-Wing Lieutenants are their escort from this party. The Lieutenant Jin
Bogard (Human Male) and the Lieutenant Hera Syndulla (Twi’lek Female).

 A smuggler named Varik Luk (Rodian Male) is one of the Independent Space Transporters
that are inside the party. However, different from others, he was not invited to the party. He
pays off a hacker that put his name at the guest list. He is using a fake name/id as Cebin Lux.
With him, his partner Smug (Trandoshan Male) disguised as Galek. The duo infiltrate at the
party in order steal the map charts of the trading routes from the host.

 A Bounty Hunter named Rax Treeslaa (Gand Male) was contract by the imperial intelligence
to kidnap the Senator Rana Stazi in order to obtain the classified information about any
movement that the New Republic will make towards to the Inner Worlds.

The Party

 At the beginning of the party, the host will receive the entire important guests as the New
Republic entourage, local executives, and a representative from Baron Kaldo. No one less
than Gustip (Baron Kaldo’s Majordomo – Drall Male) accompanied by four Selonian thugs.

 A cocktail will be served for the guests with some delicacies from the various places of the
Core Worlds. Some chat groups will be formed as the local executives with the Senator Rana,
another one with a Corellia Representative named Kai Me’Ho (Bothan Male), various small
ones with independent Space Transporters, and one more reserved at a private VIP sector
with the Host and the Drall (Gustip).

 Colonel Braxton as a man of Arms are a little out of place here, and he will be at the bar
taking some shots.

 After one and a half hour of the beginning of the Party, a singer named Vixen Dale (Kyra)
will sing three songs in a Performance that will length about fifteen minutes. She will replace
the band. At the end, the band will return to the normal performance.

 Kyra expects to be invited to the host VIP table if her performance will be good enough to
get her noticed.

 In the table, she will play her part as the dumb hotness with all the important members. If
her stage performance is very good she could try to convince the host (without any penalties)
to show to her his famous personal collection of Trophies of deadly beasts that the he had
hunted at many places in the Known Galaxy.

 Also at this time Mimieux, the personal protocol droid of the host, are certifying that all the
guests are enjoying the party. After seeing Colonel Braxton at the bar far from happy, the
droid will invite the veteran soldier to see his master personal trophy collection. Colonel will
follow the droid at the floor below where the collection is located. There, Colonel, the droid,
and the Lieutenant (if Bogard go with them) will be surprised by the visit of the host with the
singer Vixen with him.

 At the collection, Vixen will stop in front of one of many surveillance monitors located at
the room. In addition, as soon as the heat between than increase, she will call his attention at
the monitor simply telling: “Is that right what these guys over there is doing?” At the monitor
image, the smuggler duo will be trying to access the Data Center of Zalgur Trade Corp located
thirty-three floors below them.

 The host will call her security officers in silence and the droid will call the guests to return to
the party hall. However, before they get out of the Trophy Room, Colonel Braxton check
one of the monitors in order to understand what was happening in the middle of the protests
of protocol droid.

 Vixen will leave the Trophy Room and will take Zalgur’s Personal turbo lift (she stole his
security card when he made out with her). All others lifters will be “Temporary out of service”
if any of the guests try to get out of the party. As soon as the security officers hold the two
jerks, the lifters will operate normally (all the operation will occur in fifteen minutes).

 If Bogard tries to convince Colonel Braxton that they have to go, Braxton will simply tell him
– “Relax boy, I think that breach in the security is an isolated fact. I could tell you that inside
here, we are well protected” – And will continue – Go, I see that you need to breathe some
air. Don’t worry, Hera and I will keep our eyes and ears sharpened” and will finish the talk
with a small wink to the Lieutenant.

 If all the talking above occurs inside the Trophy Room and Bogard tries to catch Vixen, he
will meet her entering inside Zalgur’s Private Turbo Lifter. If he questioned her about what
she is doing inside this elevator, she will simply tell that Zalgur told her that all the Lifter’s

will be disable for a moment for a security measure and gave to her this security card in order
to her wait for him at his personal quarters.

 If he insists in take a lift in the elevator to get out of the building, she will told him that Zalgur
give to her specific order when he gave to her the card. Therefore, she is a little afraid to do
something different of what had been told to her.

Leaving the Party (the Ambush)

 When the New Republic entourage is leaving the party, in front of the Zalgur Tower the
bounty hunter Rax with some war droids will attack them in order to cause sufficient
distraction in order to give to the bounty hunter the chance to capture the Senator Rana.
(See the stats of the droids and Rax below).

 The bounty hunter will flee with the Senator in a modified speeder to his ship – located in
Qaestar Town Spaceport – the bounty hunter will take two hours from Dearic to Qaestar
(frequented by pirates, smugglers, and other assorted undesirables).

 After the kidnap, the security of Zalgur (which after three rounds of the encounter will join
the players in order to defend the New Republic entourage) and himself will appear and will
inform Colonel that the security of Deriac was already informed about the Kidnaping of the
Senator and he will help the entourage the better way he could. Therefore, the Colonel will
follow with him to the City Security Department.

 Lieutenant Hera will as instructed by Colonel will go to the Communication Center Calling a
Distress Signal to all Republic Ships about the Kidnap of the Senator Rana.

 Bogard at least could try to go to spaceport to his X-wing in order to catch the fleeing Bounty
Hunter. If he goes, the local authorities will give him a ride to the spaceport of Dearic. An
official named Derik Telkar (Zabrak Male) and his assistant Mark Filps (Corellian Human Male)
will be his escort to the spaceport.

Spaceport

 When the group arrive at the terminal, more specifically at the dock bay 93 where the
Bogard’s X-wing are landed they will be surprised by Bogard’s Astromech droid that already
disassemble the entire Flight modulator of the X-wing in order to do some repairs. The droid
will said in binary as soon as they see Bogard and the others entering at the docking bay –
“It’s about time that you will show. I need some specific parts in order to fix the modulator”
- and will print a small list of components to his master. Using the X-wing is completely out
of question.

 If the players do not listen the all the confusion out of the docking bay 93, the Derik’s comlink
will call, informed about a gunfight at the spaceport, more specifically at docking bay 88. If
they go out of the docking bay, they see many people running from the direction of the
blaster sounds.

 A small group of angry Gamblers that had been robbed by Varik and Smug had the bright
idea to recover their losses. Therefore, they took a speeder from Qaestar Town and come
into Dearic in order to try to steal “Slayer”, the spaceship of the duo of smugglers. However,
what they do not expect is there will be someone already stealing the vessel.

 Their leader a Nikto named Klaatu (Red Nikto Male) is not very intelligent and will try to
persuade with their blasters, the other thieves. (See the stats of his companions and Klaatu
below).

 Klaatu is not smart. However, he pleases his life almost anything and if he was badly wounded
or at least 75% of his man are down, he will give up to the authorities. If he was not dead at
the combat, after interrogated he will confirm that they see a Speeder with the same
description in High Speed about an hour ago heading for Qaestar Town.

Docking bay 88

 If Bogard tries to sneak at the docking bay, even with all the complaining of Derik, the duo
will enter together at the docking bay. An old Corellispace Gymsnor-3 Light Freighter in
deplorable situation is landed here with her landing ramp opened.

 Roll a Vigilance check for snake vs. the Perception of Bogard and Derik. As the lights inside
the docking bay are compromised (their control are destroyed) all vigilance checks have
penalties. Therefore, snake gains a boost dice. Snake will try to surprise the one that he sees
that are most lost. Therefore, snake will check his stealth + one boost dice vs. his target Cool.
If he succeeds at this check, he will gain two boost dice in his initiative.

 Snake tries to grapple his opponent brawl combat skill check + one advantage dice against
easy difficulty. The target could release himself with a brawn combat check against snake’s
brawn ability + medium difficulty. Snake’s intention was only to maintain the opponent close
in order to go with the opponent as a shield to the spaceship. After that, he will ask “nicely”
to that opponent to throw out your weapon. Than he will release him.

 At the same moment, reinforcements are arriving outside docking bay 88. Therefore, as soon
as snake releases his opponent, a shot from the dark near at the entrance will be see it and
the control panel for the blast door to access the hangar will be closed.

 At this time, Kyra will appear from this point targeting the opponent that are still armed
inside the complex. If that opponent is Bogard, she will try to convince him that she is not
the bad one at this mess. Therefore, she will roll Charm check in order to persuade him to
down his weapon. So the check will be made with two setback dices. However, as Kyra have
two ranks in Kill with Kindness, she will remove that penalty. Therefore, the check will be
made her Charm ability skill against + Bogard’s cool + medium difficulty (because he feels
very attracted to her). If Kyra fails, DM will roll again because she will use her Natural
Charmer ability.

 If Bogard secure his weapon, Kyra will thank him and will go to Snake telling him to order
the pilot to start the ion engines. Snake will simply tell that unfortunately the pilot was
wounded at the gunfight and pass out, and then he will show the pilot unconscious lay down
near the landing ramp. Kyra will check the pilot to see how wound he was, and then she will
curse aloud.

 At the meantime, the reinforcements outside begin the process to breach the door of the
docking bay. All the characters inside the docking bay will see sparks of fire coming from the
entrance door. Therefore, it will be only a matter of time and Snake and Kyra will be taken
as prisoners.

 Kyra will be very upset (a Cool ability check against hard difficulty have to be made in order
to her think any possible way out of this). If she fails, only if Bogard present himself as a pilot
and with a plan to take the spaceship to follow the Kidnapper. On the other hand, if this not
occurs, Snake will try to take the two out of Dearic and they will go to Qaestar. If snake also
fail, the duo will be taken as prisoners.

 If with the help of Kyra, Bogard offers to pilot the spaceship in order to discover the
whereabouts of the Kidnapper, Kyra will simply ask to Bogard to take them out of the Talus
as fast as he could. Therefore, a short Hyperspace jump will be sufficient. After that, Kyra
and Snake will talk with their new team member.

Bad luck’s game

 Safely at Hyperspace, than Kyra will complain about the mess inside the Spaceship. Therefore,
she only change her cloth. The state of the washer is out of any discussion. She and Snake
will call their new member for a little chat. Telling the two about the Kidnapping of the
Senator, Kyra will curse again telling that the authorities of Talus are thinking that they are
involved with all this shit.

 Snake will calmly hear Bogard’s words and will rationalize. Only a dauntless Bounty Hunter
will accept a contract like these. Moreover, off course, taken a senator of the New Republic
will call an undue attention from all sector and authorities. In addition, for a Bounty of this
type Snake was almost sure that there are an intermediary between the Bounty Hunter and
the real client. So Snake discourses about two real possibilities:

1. The Kidnapper goes to the Inner Rim planet of Jakku, a desert planet located in a remote
section of the Western Reaches of the galaxy. A female Hutt named Niima controls the
planet. This possibility according Snake was about the fact of this Hutt assume the Planet
operations three years ago. Almost one year before the Battle of Endor. After that, a lot
of criminal activity begun to occur at the planet. Therefore, the mysterious intermediary
could be at Jakku. More precisely at Niima Outpost.

2. … On the other hand, maybe our Intrepid Bounty Hunter goes to the Mining Colony of
Nkllon. More precisely to Nomad City. Even with Kyra shouts about all the nonsense of
this conclusion Snake continues his train of thought. He explains that her friend
exacerbated reaction is related to the “Owner” of this Colony is an old boyfriend of her.
Kyra fast correct his friend – An admirer. We do not have any relationship. Snake
continues, telling that Nassad is an ex-pirate and a legitimate opportunist. So even earning
a lot of money for this operation, Snake thinks that after all the investments that Nassad
took in order to begin his operation, if there is a huge opportunity of earning some easy
money, he will not let that chance pass. Therefore, he could offer his facility as a base
for the encounter of the Bounty Hunter and the intermediary. After all, not only the
money, but also the information will be very profitable to him.

Kyra will complain about his train of thought and will say that at the end, it is a good choice because
if they come there, Snake could recover his stupid spaceship.

Snake at other hand will say that it was partially truth but instead, if the Bounty Hunter does not come
to Nkllon, Nassad contacts could give to them some clue about the real destination of the Kidnapper.
For him it is their best chance.

Kyra will argue against this fact telling to him if they go to Nkllon, it was almost certain that Nassad
would put Snake and Bogard at jail or worse. Moreover, he will take some measures about any attempt
of scape of them.

Snake will only shrug (dar de ombros) and will asked Bogard – “Your Senator, so your call man. Where
do we go?”

Kyra will try to convince Bogard that Jakku is the best option, meanwhile Snake only will tell him –
“It’s like a Gamble my friend. You have to bet in one option. And you have only one chance”.

Jakku’s Info:

“Jakku was an isolated desert world in the Western Reaches of the galaxy. It hosted
the Wheel Races in the north and mining operations dotted the planet. Buttes were
located in the south in which lichen could be scraped off to create the alcoholic
beverage Knockback Nectar.

Tuanul, Reestkii and Cratertown were settlements on the planet, while the trading
post Niima Outpost was considered the only major settlement on the planet, and
was heavily guarded. Lacking a communications grid, spacers seeking to escape debts,

create a new life or simply see the galaxy often wound up at Niima Outpost, owing
to it having the only navigational beacon.”

In Portuguese:

"Jakku é um mundo desértico isolado nos cantos mais Oestes da Galáxia. Ele é
anfitrião das corridas sobre rodas ao Norte e de antigas operações de mineração nos
extremos do planeta. Montes isolados estão localizados no sul. Neste local, um fungo
que após ser cuidadosamente raspado em sua coleta é utilizado para criar a bebida
alcoólica de nome Néctar do Apagão (Knockback Nectar).

Turnul, Restkit e Cratertown são os assentamentos no planeta, enquanto o posto de


comércio de Niima é considerado o único grande povoado do planeta, e segundo
relatos, é fortemente vigiado. Na falta de uma rede de comunicações, viajantes
espaciais procurando escapar de dívidas, criar uma nova vida ou simplesmente ver a
galáxia, muitas vezes acabam em Niima, devido a ele ter o único farol de navegação”.

Nkllon’s Info:

“Nkllon was a small, mineral rich, harsh world in the Athega system. Its surface was
covered in plains of searing rock, impact craters, and volcanic features.
The crust of the planet was rich in the minerals hfredium, kammris, and dolovite;
metals vital in construction of starships. Mining operations were previously impossible
in the planet however, as Nkllon was bathed in lethal radiation from its small
orbit around the system's star during the day. However, two years ago, Vough
Nassad took a gamble at an operation to mine Nkllon. Using a giant mobile mining
complex called Nomad City, the operation could be carried out permanently during
the night time, with ships visiting the system being protected by giant, super-cooled
radiation umbrella vessels called shieldships.”

superfície coberta de planícies rochosas e crateras vulcânicas.
A crosta do planeta é rica em minerais hfredium, kammris e dolovite: metais vitais

Nkllon estava banhado de radiação letal devido à sua pequena órbita em torno da

realizadas de forma permanente durante o período noturno. O ex-pirata comprou
12 naves-escudo, enormes guarda-sóis, equipados com sistema de super-resfriamento
que bloqueia e projeta uma sombra que protege naves e cargueiros que visitam o
sistema.”
