Flight Manual Preamble Issue 1

PREAMBLE

INTRODUCTION
The following is applicable for authorized certificate holders operating under authorities
operating requirements. The operating requirements and the airworthiness standards require
that all equipment installed on an airplane must be operative.
PURPOSE
This Configuration Deviation List (CDL) contains additional approved limitations for operation of
airplane without certain secondary airframe and engine parts as listed herein. The approved
limitations in Section 1 are applicable except as amended herein. All EASA approved limitations must
be followed when operating with a configuration deviation.
ORGANIZATION OF CDL
Pages identification
The identification of the pages of the CDL consists of the following data printed at the top and the
bottom of each page:
- Name of the Aircraft,

DASSAULT AVIATION Proprietary Data

- Title of the document: Airplane Flight Manual,
- Page numbering system,
- Section issue number,
- Identification number of document: DGT88898,
- Notation: ”EASA APPROVED”.
Page numbering system
The page numbering system consists of 2 elements:
- Number of the section (Part number or ATA number), possibly followed by an alphabetical index
corresponding to a variant,
- Number of the page in the section always followed by total number of pages of the current section.
Amendment system
When a page is modified, the whole section is revised and its issue number is incremented. Revised
parts are indicated with revision marks. This modified section is published through a new CDL
revision. The following table of version of sections list all effective sections and give information about
issue and applicability.
APPLICABILITY
This list does not include parts which do not affect the airworthiness of the airplane, such as galley
equipment, entertainment systems, passenger convenience items, etc., and is based on the
configuration of the airplane as originally manufactured. Secondary airframe parts changed or added
during completion or while the airplane is in operation should be addressed by supplementary
revisions to the list.
DEFINITION
The numbering and designation of systems in CDL item list is based in ATA specification No 100. The
parts within each ATA chapter are identified by functional description and when necessary, by part
numbers, or Illustrated Part Catalog index.

Issue 1 Preamble Flight Manual

Multiple items
Unless otherwise specified herein, combination of missing or damaged items in the different ATA
chapters is not authorized. Unless otherwise specified herein, combination of missing or damaged
items in a same ATA chapter is authorized. The performance penalties are cumulative. The decision
of the pilot in command of the flight, to have allowed missing parts corrected prior to flight, will take
precedence over the provisions contained in this publication.
If an additional part is lost in flight, the airplane may not depart the airport at which it landed following
this event until it again complies with the limitations of the item list. This does not preclude the
issuance of a ferry permit to allow the airplane to be flown to a point where the necessary repairs or
replacements can be made.
Categorization (Rectification intervals)
- All users of a CDL approved under Authority must effect repairs of inoperative items, at or prior to
the rectification times established by the following letter designators, unless authorized by the
Authority:
A - No standard interval is specified, however, items in this category shall be
rectified in accordance with the conditions stated in the Remarks column (5) of
the CDL.
Where a time period is specified, it shall start at 00:01 on the calendar day
following the day of discovery.
DASSAULT AVIATION Proprietary Data

B - Items in this category shall be rectified within three (3) consecutive calendar
days excluding the day of discovery.
C - Items in this category shall be rectified within ten (10) consecutive calendar
days excluding the day of discovery.
D - Items in this category shall be rectified within one hundred and twenty (120)
consecutive calendar days excluding the day of discovery.
- The letter designators are inserted in Column 2 – Rectification interval.
ACTION REQUIRED
Maintenance LOG
The operator shall list in the airplane logbook an appropriate notation covering the missing part(s) on
each flight.
Damage inspection
The operator shall make a thorough check of the airplane to ascertain that other areas have not been
damaged or affected.
Placarding
The operator shall make a placard by duplicating the complete Configuration Deviation List (CDL)
item from this publication and cut it to size to show only the subject item. Install this placard in a
conspicuous location in the cockpit.
The pilot shall be notified of each operation with a missing part(s) by listing the missing part(s) in the
flight or dispatch release.
If the missing part requires a reduction of VMO / MMO, an approved placard for the reduced
VMO / MMO must be installed adjacent to the airspeed indicator and any additional restrictions must
be placarded for the pilots easily see.
Performance and flight planning
When applicable, the effect of the missing parts will be included in the calculations for take-off,
landing and cruise.

Flight Manual Preamble Issue 1

LIMITATIONS
1- When the airplane is operated using this Configuration Deviation List, it
must be operated in accordance with the limitations specified in the Airplane
Flight Manual.
2- The associated limitations must be listed on a placard affixed in the cockpit on
the pilot's instrument panel in the clear view of the pilot.
3- Take-off performance penalties are applicable to take-off gross weights that
are limited by MTOW, landing field length, second segment climb, or take-off
flight path.
4- Landing performance penalties are applicable to landing gross weights that
are limited by MLW, landing field length, landing climb, or approach climb.
5- En-route performance penalties are applicable to operations that are limited by
one engine inoperative en-route climb performance.
