ASSIGNMENT QUESTION

Key figures in early childhood education advocated “enlightened “teaching of young children
and were distinctly influential in ‘curricular development’. (Nutbrown,C., Clough, P., and
Selbie, P.(2008) Early Childhood Education : History, Philosophy and Experience. London,
Sage Publications)

Undertake a study at a pre-school of your choice and identify classroom practices that give an
“added-value” to children’s learning and development. Record the evidence and transcribe all
conversations to be presented as data (in the discussion and as an Appendix). Photos are also
accepted proof of the research. In your conclusion state what guidelines can be applied in the
classroom to help children learn to the fullest.
