According to Heller and Wood (2000) the groups did not differ regarding couple level of

intimacy, similarity of intimate experience, or mutual understanding. However, in-depth

interviews revealed differences in the pathways by which these two groups arrived at a similar
level of intimacy. Intramarried couples appear to experience greater personal similarity and
mutual understanding rooted in their ethnic bond, which aids the development of intimacy. Most
couple usually makes the differences of their religion as a flaw in their relationship.

Despite ample evidence that global indexes of religiousness are linked to family
functioning, the mechanisms by which religion uniquely influences family dynamics are not well
understood or empirically documented. To advance the scientific study of religion's role in
families. . We also highlight the potential harm that may result from the sanctification of family
relationships and discuss circumstances that may present particular risks (unavoidable
challenges, violations by family members, loss, conflict, and intrapsychic and institutional
barriers). Finally, we discuss future research directions to study more closely the influence of
religion and sanctification on family life. (Mahoney & et al, 2003)

Atran & Norenzayan correctly claim that religion reduces emotions related to existential
concerns. Our response adds to their argument by focusing on religious differences in the
importance of emotion, and on other emotions that may be involved in religion. We believe that
the important differences among religions make it difficult to have one theory to account for all
religions. (Cohen & et al, 2004) it is one of the basis of some families that the couple should have
the same religions to avoid critisms and conflicts in their families.

According to Frame (2000) spiritual and religious issues often surface during marital and
family therapy. In this article, I describe a spiritual genogram that is a multigenerational map of
family members' religious and spiritual affiliations, events, and conflicts. Used as a tool in family
therapy, the spiritual genogram enables clients to make sense of their families' religious/spiritual
heritage and to explore the ways in which their experiences impact present couple or family
issues.
Spouses of couple fell between their depressed partners and the controls in their levels of
stress, coping, and family support. The overall pattern of effects involved in the stress process
was similar across couple populations. Negative life events, coping, and family support were
primarily directly related to depression, whereas strains exhibited some indirect effects through
their relationship with lack of family support. (Mitchell & et al, 1983)

Research Questions:

1. What are the adversities faced by the couples who have a different religions in their
married life?

The results of the study will be the following:

Couples –the result of the study is very significance to the characteristics they have as a married
couple who have different religions and how they manage their problems.

Future Researchers- The ideas presented can be used as reference inconducting new researchers
