VOLUMES IN NCR LAST YEAR, /5, 742 ARE INDEX CRIMES WHILE
35, 257 ARE NON-INDEX CRIMES. SOME OF THE NON-INDEX
CRIMES ARE POLICE INITIATED THRU/ ENFORCEMENT OF
SPECIAL LAWS AND IMPLEMENTATION OF CITY ORDINANCE.
ALTHOUGH THE CRIME HAVE GONE DOWN TO ITS LOWEST, QCPD
BELIEVES THAT THROUGH EFFECTIVE ENFORCEMENT OF
ENHANCED MANAGING POLICE OPERATIONS (EMPO) WE WILL BE
ABLE TO REDUCE THIS FURTHER/.

(SLIDE 6) SECOND, TAKING ADVANTAGE OF TECHNOLOGY IN


COMMISSION OF CRIME, VERY FEW WOULD HAVE PREDICTED
THE SEISMIC IMPACT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ON CRIME.
/MODERN TECHNOLOGY IS ALMOST INSEPERABLE FROM OUR
DAILY LIVES, HOWEVER CRIMINALS OFTEN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF
