A RESOLUTION

BY THE
ALABAMA WATER RESOURCES COMMISSION

COMMENDING

Ms. Ashley Cousins

WHEREAS, the Alabama Office of Water Resources was established


legislatively on February 23, 1993, as a division of the Alabama Department of Economic
and Community Affairs, with the enactment of the Alabama Water Resources Act (Act
Number 93-44) Code of Alabama, 1975, §§ 9-10B-1 et seq.; and

WHEREAS, the Alabama Water Resources Act also established the


Alabama Water Resources Commission to serve as an advisory body to the Governor, the
presiding officers of the Alabama Senate, the Alabama House of Representatives, and the
Alabama Office of Water Resources; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Cousins was originally appointed by Lieutenant


Governor Jim Folsom in 2009 to the Alabama Water Resources Commission to represent
environmental, conservation, or water-related recreation interests in the state and
reappointed by then Lieutenant Governor Kay Ivey in 2015.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Alabama Water Resources Commission hereby


expresses its appreciation to Ms. Ashley Cousins for her contributions to the State of
Alabama while serving as a member, Chair of the Drought Subcommittee, and Vice Chair
of the Alabama Water Resources Commission and for her exemplary service to the
Commission.

Mr. Thomas R. “Buddy” Morgan

WHEREAS, the Alabama Office of Water Resources was established


legislatively on February 23, 1993, as a division of the Alabama Department of Economic
and Community Affairs, with the enactment of the Alabama Water Resources Act (Act
Number 93-44) Code of Alabama, 1975, §§ 9-10B-1 et seq.; and

WHEREAS, the Alabama Water Resources Act also established the


Alabama Water Resources Commission to serve as an advisory body to the Governor, the
presiding officers of the Alabama Senate, the Alabama House of Representatives, and the
Alabama Office of Water Resources; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Morgan was appointed by then Lieutenant Governor Kay


Ivey in 2011 to the Alabama Water Resources Commission to represent urban public water
systems in the state using less than 90 million gallons of water per day from the waters of
the state on an average daily basis and reappointed by her in 2016.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Alabama Water Resources Commission hereby


expresses its appreciation to Mr. Thomas R. “Buddy” Morgan for his contributions to the
State of Alabama while serving as a member, Chair of the Water Resources Management
Subcommittee, and Chair of the Alabama Water Resources Commission and for his
exemplary service to the Commission.

Mr. David Roberson

WHEREAS, the Alabama Office of Water Resources was established


legislatively on February 23, 1993, as a division of the Alabama Department of Economic
and Community Affairs, with the enactment of the Alabama Water Resources Act (Act
Number 93-44) Code of Alabama, 1975, §§ 9-10B-1 et seq.; and

WHEREAS, the Alabama Water Resources Act also established the


Alabama Water Resources Commission to serve as an advisory body to the Governor, the
presiding officers of the Alabama Senate, the Alabama House of Representatives, and the
Alabama Office of Water Resources; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Roberson was appointed by Governor Robert Bentley in


2014 to the Alabama Water Resources Commission to represent the Sixth Congressional
District.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Alabama Water Resources Commission hereby


expresses its appreciation to Mr. Roberson for his contributions to the State of Alabama
while serving both as member and Vice Chair of the Alabama Water Resources
Commission and for his exemplary service to the Commission.
