Easy.

Speech recognition focuses on the vocabulary- the words used.

Voice recognition goes for the biometric aspect. Every voice is different. There
are hundreds of markers such as tempo, tembre, pitch that make your voice
unique. Voice recognition captures all theese markers to provide services like
voice ID.

Both, speech and voice analytics can provide insight about the mood of the
speaker(s).

Voice recognition involves solutions or processes that work around identifying

the individual or specific voice factors for attribution (for example, for voice
biometrics, health).

Speech recognition is used to help identify words and meaning - so more for
speech to text type solutions.

Hope that helps!

Both use recordings of the human voice, but they do different things with
it.Speech recognition strips out the personal differences to detect the words.
Voice Recognition Software typically disregards the language and meaning
to detect the physical person behind the speech.

The answer from Warchol is the correct usage of the terms, but “voice
recognition” is often used by the press and even companies in the business to
mean the same as speech recognition. Referring to determining the identity of a
speaker is less ambiguous if the term “speaker identification” is used, or
“speaker authentication” when used as a biometric authentication technique.

Voice recognition is speaker dependent by looking at voice patterns of the

individual. No voice is alike.
