Dear Alireza Esmkhani

The IFALDA Executive Board has approved your membership in IFALDA! Welcome aboard!

Here are your membership documents. The card can be laminated and will fit in your wallet. The
certificate is suitable for framing. Welcome aboard!

Here is some basic information about IFALDA Our

current Executive Board is:
Russ Williams President (Canada)
Bryan Schock Vice President-West (U.S.)
Karl Fridriksson Vice President-East (Iceland)
Rick Ketchersid Vice President Finance and Webmaster (U.S.)
Richard Yeates Vice President Administration (Canada)

In addition, our website (www.ifalda.org) lists 8 Directors who are non-voting members, who serve as
advisors to the Board. Several of us are former IFALDA Presidents. Since we represent dispatchers from
all over the world, English is our common working language in communications and at meetings.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held May 9-12, 2017 in Buenos Aries. Please see the IFALDA website
for details. Like all IFALDA members in good standing, you are welcome to attend.

Are you interested in participating in any IFALDA professional projects?

• IFALDA wrote the ICAO Flight Operations Officer/Flight Dispatcher Training Manual (ICAO Doc.
7192 D-3) in the 90s in the 90s. As a result of the support of the ICAO 39th General Assembly
Technical Commission for our recent working paper,
• IFALDA is in the process of writing a replacement dispatcher training manual for ICAO.
• We are involved in the ICAO-level EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) project, ensuring that, first of all,
aeronautical information from an EFB to be used for decision-making must be from a source
approved in the operator’s Operations Specifications. Second, the dispatcher must stay “in the
loop” whenever any aeronautical decision is made using EFB as a tool and must concur with the
decision when the operator uses a dispatch system for the control and supervision of flights.
• IFALDA is currently working with Colombian aviation investigators (GRIAA) in gathering facts
from the LaMia accident last year.
• We are also following up on the MH370 disappearance regarding the exercise of operational
control.
• IFALDA has been part of the ICAO global flight tracking task force for 3 years. We currently serve
on the ICAO NATII/2 (Normal Aircraft Tracking Implementation Initiative) working group,
developing policies, procedures and guidance for aircraft tracking in both normal and abnormal
situations.

We would be very interested in your views regarding topics of interest to dispatchers

(at/in)……………………………………………..

We solicit members to participate on current dispatch-related issues after we identify issues that affect
dispatch at the ICAO level, often as a result of input from our membership. We solicit additional input
from the membership through our website and our newsletter. All members are encouraged to weigh in
with their views and we try to reach consensus on how to proceed. If we choose to proceed on an issue
we form a working group.

All working group members, whether on-site or working remotely from home work pro bono. Most of
our work is done remotely from home. That said, reasonable expenses approved in advance by the
Board when travel is required are covered by IFALDA. Please let me know if you are interested in
participating.

Best regards and welcome to IFALDA!
