Non-Profit Organization, Silverlake Youth Services has launched their 1st Annual Give2Win Fundraiser; the
Million-Dollar Dream Home Raffle is to help raise funds for the children of Silverlake Youth Services.

Grand prize is a $1 Million-Dollar Home of your choice, anywhere in the State of California or $725,000 cash.
There are also other prizes totaling $250,000*.

(July 14, 2008) – Redlands, CA – Silverlake Youth Services, Inc.(SYS) is comprised of a

number of private, not-for-profit community care treatment facilities, which exist for the sole
purpose of providing a home environment and psychological health care for troubled youth. The
focus of the program is to provide kids with the opportunity to gain effective control over their
lives through the acquisition of rethinking skills and positive character growth. The Strategies for
Treatment in Adolescent Recovery (S.T.A.R.) Program is the psychological skill-building
component of our treatment program. Staff and kids will utilize this program through the
knowledge and application of the eight strategies outlined in the S.T.A.R. Workbook. The
strategies teach the kids what they have control over and help them gain new life skills to meet
their needs without trying to manipulate others or their environment in an unhealthy way.
Additional services that will benefit from this raffle include early childhood development
programs, after-school tutoring services for at-risk youth and non-profit organizations throughout
Southern California.
We have recently launched the Give2Win Fundraiser; the $1 Million-Dollar Home Raffle.
The concept of using a home raffle is to help raise funds for our programs, which aid in the
development of children at risk throughout our communities. This fundraiser will continue to
grow and improve with the support from our community. This yearʼs raffle includes the Grand
Prize of a $1 Million-Dollar home anywhere in the State of California or $725,000 cash. We will

About Silverlake Youth Services, Inc.
It is our belief at Silverlake Youth Services (SYS), that all children are entitled to a
positive educational experience. Understanding the importance of AB 490, SYS will work
diligently to ensure that all of our youth are placed in the educational setting that is most
appropriate for meeting their specific challenges.
Many of our youth have done quite well in the traditional public school setting and wish
to remain there. This traditional option provides many positive social and educational
experiences for these children and their future. Local non-public schools allow our children that
have both restrictive needs and emotional disturbances to be in a setting that is conducive to
meeting their needs. Furthermore, this environment is specifically designed to help children
cope with both their life experiences and behavioral issues.
SYS also provides a charter school option for students who may fit better in a flexible
independent study program. This option allows youth to participate in many off-campus
educational experiences and provides the students with more one-to-one attention. Flexibility
within this system offers the opportunity for students to not only maintain jobs, but also make up
for lost time in school. This is a least restrictive option that is helping a portion of our children.
It is our intention at SYS to provide all of our youth with a positive and least restrictive
educational option. With the help of the placing agencies and those who hold educational rights,
we wish to place all children in the appropriate setting. In this section you will also find our
educational intake form. If you have any questions, comments, or ideas regarding this form
