CppAplainfnt Swom to before me this__4 day of _Januar +2019.STATE OF MAINE AFFIDAVIT IN SUPPORT OF PROBABLE CAUSE I, Detective Desiree Wuthenow, being duly swom, do depose and swear to the following: Lama Law Enforcement Officer with the Maine State Police and have served as such for approximately 3 years. Based on the following reliable facts, circumstances and information from my own personal knowledge or relayed to me by other Inw enforcement personnel involved in the investigation, I have probable cause to believe and do believe that MARK PENLEY (DOB 9/6/1969) did commit the crime of Murder I violation of [Title 17-A Section 201(1)(A). 1. My Basis for Probable Cause Is As Follows: On Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at 8:26 PM, MARK PENLEY (DOB 9/6/1969) called 911 and reported to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department dispatch that he had gone to 24 Market Square in South Paris to see his children and he found “them” dead. The dispatcher, Cheryl Coffin, said she asked PENLEY if he meant his children were dead, and PENLEY clarified that he found HEATHER BICKFORD and DANA HILL dead. Dispatcher Coffin then dispatched officers to the scene. Paris Police Department Officer Joseph Correia, Norway Police Department Officer Dan Brown, and Oxford County Deputy Sheriff Derrick MacDonald arrived on scene and entered the apartment where they spoke to PENLEY, who was holding an infant. Officer Correia advised he saw another child sitting on a couch inside the apartment. PENLEY. told Officer Correia that he found two bodies. PENLEY said the two people inside the apartment were HEATHER BICKFORD and DANA HILL. Officer Correia advised PENLEY that detectives would want to talk with him and asked him to stay on scene. PENLEY agreed and took the children to his vehicle and then remained in the parking
