DevOps Culture and Culture Breakers

Being a DevOps practitioner and evangelist, I have heard a lot of people speak and interpret what they
think of the DevOps practice, some think of DevOps as a Technology, some think of it as Title of a role,
and some think of it as a process. To define it more clearly, all of the above is correct, DevOps Engineers
execute the process using a set of Technology which is termed as “ToolChain”, and Processes which is
mostly attached to the adjective “Continuous”. DevOps is more of a discipline that is aimed towards
uninterrupted delivery of a Product.

most of the time this happens in Job posts which unintentionally misinterpret the meaning and purpose
of DevOps. People usually attach a DevOps person to Support up to the point of fixing the code layer of
a Product, which is basically not correct. Putting so much flavors and variations in a DevOps role will
disable the person to enable his/her ability to improve automation, provide measurements and adapt
speed, but instead work as a Production Support Resource or even a Developer Role.
