then starts to burn fat for energy, leading to ketosis.
3. What happens if you don’t eat enough proteins?
- Protein deficiency is mostly caused by essential amino acid deficiency. Deficiency
of each of the nine essential amino acids causes distinct symptoms. Deficiency of
any of them prohibits the synthesis of a variety of proteins. Without protein, the
human body cannot function normally.
4. What happens if you don’t eat enough fats?
- The human body can make most fats with the exception of omega-3 and omega-6. If
you don’t get enough of these fats in your diet, the most likely symptoms are those
of essential fatty acid deficiency including: Dry skin and hair, brittle finger nails,
night blindness, depression, confusion and disorientation (Answers may vary)
Nutrition disorders can be caused by an insufficient intake of food or of certain nutrients, by an
inability of the body to absorb and use nutrients, or by overconsumption of certain foods.
Examples include obesity caused by excess food intake, anemia caused by inadequate intake of
iron, and impaired sight because of not enough intake of vitamin A. Nutrition disorders can be
