Rollover on Base Line causes minor injuries

At approximately 1 p.m. on
Friday, Sept. 21, an adult driver
and a child received minor in-
juries in a vehicle rollover on
Base Line at Cole Avenue.
According to responding
sheriff’s deputies, the driver of
a silver SUV was traveling
westbound on Base Line when
another car began to turn into
her lane and when the two cars
swerved to avoid collision the
SUV rode up on the curb, hit a
light pole and rolled over.
The other vehicle, described
as a Honda Civic, kept on driv-
ing, the deputy said.

day, Sept. 20-21, sheriff investi-
gators partnered with members
of the U.S. Forest Service and
the Department of Fish and
Wildlife as part of the CAMP
(Campaign Against Marijuana
Planting) program, to investi-
gate illegal marijuana grows in
the forest, said a press release.
They found three large plots
of marijuana growing near
Marble Canyon, Arctic Canyon
and East Fork Canyon along
with camping equipment and
lots of trash, showing the sus-
pects had been living near and
caring for the plants.
“Investigators believe mem-
bers of illegal drug trafficking
organizations are responsible
for the marijuana grows found
in the national forest,” the re-

REV teacher arrested
for setting poster on
fire during school day
A 59-year-old Redlands East
Valley teacher was arrested on
Friday, Sept. 21, on arson
charges for setting a poster on
fire.
At 8:33 a.m. Sept. 21, the
deputy school resource officer
from the Central Station re-
sponded to a fire alarm, at the
school in the 31000 block of
East Colton Avenue in Mentone.
The deputy arrived on scene
quickly and learned a small fire
had been set by one of the
teachers on campus, said a San
Bernardino County Sheriff De-
partment press release.
“Timothy Mark Ridgeway, a
teacher at the school, set fire to
a banner in one of the buildings
occupied with approximately
300 students,” the press release
says. “Ridgeway also set fire to
