ABSTRACT

This study aspires to create a recreation center in Ozamiz City, to promote

tourism, and to use this recreation for benefiting the body and the mind. Ozamiz

City Sports Centre will be located in the wide, vacant lot in Brgy. Labo, Ozamiz

City. This desired sports complex will contain one 400-m rubberized oval track

containing ten lanes. There will be two-level bleachers, having a covered 3,000-

capacity grand stand. Its seats will be made of plastic and four comfort rooms are

provided. There will also be one gymnasium, which will contain four comfort

rooms, and four multi-purpose rooms used for other activities such as table tennis

and other sports. It will be air-conditioned and will be convertible to basketball,

volleyball, and badminton courts, rallies and other activities. Locker rooms shall be

provided separately for male and female athletes containing a maximum of fifty

people for each room. A wide-range soccer field will be provided outside the

gymnasium for the soccer players. There will only two sets of open lawn tennis

courts, which can also be convertible to a badminton court. A covered court

outside the gym will also be provided for basketball and volleyball use only. An

air-conditioned, indoor Olympic-sized swimming pool containing six lanes will

also be available for the athletes, accompanied with a 500-capacity grand stand.
Locker rooms with showers will be provided separately as well for males and

females, only with a maximum of twenty people allowed in each locker room. Four

comfort rooms shall be provided as well. A parking area outside the gymnasium

will be provided for those bringing cars, containing only a maximum of fifty cars

or other vehicles.

The entrance fees for all athletes except swimmers will be charged with

P100 per head. Swimmers will be charged with P200 per head only. All coaches

will only be charged with P50 and P30 for visitorsBooking the main gymnasium

will cost P10,000 per day and P50,000 for one week. Other courts will be charged

P3,000 per day and P10,000 for one week. The indoor swimming pool will be

costing P25,000 for a one-day booking and P60,000 for one week. However,

membership will be offered. With this membership, their fees and bookings will be

charged only half the price from the original.For membership, only athletes and

coaches aging 18+ are eligible, thus reducing the entrance fees for the former.

Booking charges will be reduced as well if the institution has booked the sports

centre at least five times.

With this sports complex project, it may provide the betterment of Ozamiz

City and its people, and also to provide facility for the institutions. This also hopes
in reaching the level in holding “Palarong Pambansa” (National Games) in Ozamiz

City Sports Centre.
