Lesson Two – Tuesday 19th June
Introduction (5 minutes):
1. Introduce new sounds to groups (sound out and read
words)
Lesson Body (25 minutes):
1. Colour coding of sounds in words (10 minutes)
2. Read/introduce dictation and draw on the board (5
minutes)
3. Buddy reading (10 minutes)

Lesson Three – Wednesday 20th June


Introduction (5 minutes):
1. Every syllable has a vowel sound set up
Lesson Body (20 minutes):
1. Syllables and sounds in spelling books (10 minutes)
2. Draw and label dictation (10 minutes)
Lesson Four – Thursday 21st June
Introduction (5 minutes):
1. Review spelling words for both groups
Lesson Body (20 minutes):
1. Look, say, cover, write, check with spelling words (10
minutes)
2. Dictation editing (10 minutes)
Conclusion (15 minutes):
The educator selects some children to share the natural
materials they used and the natural feature they created.
The picture cards from the introduction are used for a
categorisation activity into the types of natural features.
