RD0253_XX

698-960 MHz / 1710-1880 MHz / 1920-2170 MHz Combiner

This high isolation, low loss, high

power combiner combines the
bands 698-960 MHz, 1710-1880
MHz and 1920-2170 MHz onto a
single antenna feeder. Brackets are
provided that enable either pole or
wall mounting. The combiner is
AISG/3GPP compliant. Single or dual
unit configurations are available
along with factory set or an auto-
configured DC/AISG bypass path.

DC Autosense Explanatory Notes

DC autosense detects the presence of DC on the input ports of the combiner and connects the highest priority
port on which DC is present to the COMMON port according to the following table.

This functionality promotes flexibility in the choice of controlling base station and allows the controlling
base station to be changed without the need to swap combiners.

Default Port Precedence Table (See Note 3)

CROSS BAND COMBINERS

State PORT 1 PORT 2 PORT 3 DC/AISG Path

1 No DC No DC No DC No DC/AISG path established

2 DC X X PORT 1 - PORT 4

3 No DC X DC PORT 3 - PORT 4

4 No DC DC No DC PORT 2 - PORT 4

X = DC or No DC (i.e. irrespective of voltage being applied)

Note 3: Other port precedence’s are available on request – please contact Radio Design

DC Autosense requires DC to be present in order to function correctly and will not detect the presence of
AISG signals alone. The DC/AISG bypass path is established when DC is detected for >1 s. LEDs indicate the
port from which DC/AISG is provided.

Current consumption <=12 mA (normal operation)

<=6 mA (shutdown mode - DC/AISG bypass disabled)

Shutdown mode is implemented when a current >3.3 A detected for >1 s.

The low quiescent current consumption of the unit enables deployment in both CWA and AISG site
configurations.
