2017-2018 REGIONAL LEOLYMPICS

RULES & REGULATION


General Rules:
1. All participants must submit registration form with official approval from respective
faculty/ Leo Advisors & Leo Clubs (Omega/Alpha) in order to join any sport event.
2. Regional Leolympics is open to all Leo members participation only. Participation by non-
Leos is strictly not allowed. Any cheatings or joining without Leo Identity, organizing
committee has the right to disqualify the participation from the competition. Refund will
not be made for such cases. The particular club of the disqualified team will be forbidden
from joining the upcoming Leolympics event in the year of 2016.
3. All participants have to be the member of the Leo Clubs for more than 6
months from 1/7/2016. Non-Leo members are not allowed to participate
in this event. Please provide the screenshot together with your Leo ID
number as stated in myLCI when submitting the registration form.
4. You will be disqualified immediately if you could not provide the prove
as a Leo member.
5. State player and above are not allow to participate in any Leolympics
games to ensure a fair play to all others Leo Members
6. Online registration by filling Google Forms individually. Confirmation
email will be sent out after verification.
7. In each category of events, there will be 2 prizes (Champion& 1st Runner-up) awarded to
the winning individual/team.
* Amendments will be made if there are less than 3 Participants in the respective game.
8. The organizer reserves the right to amend the rules and regulations, make any decision
during the events and no damage shall be claimed from the organizer.
9. Each players is allowed to represent ONE (1) team only and player is not allowed to
replace other team player after the first game has been played.
10. In each game, we will calculate how much score you get and conceded. This will determine
the winners if both teams have the same point.
11. Every Game will be played as a knockout challenge unless the game has less than Five (5)
Participants.
12. Smoking and consumption of drugs and alcohols are strictly prohibited throughout the
event period.
13. Any rough play or unsporting behavior before, during and after the game will result in the
team to be disqualified.

14. Respective Sponsoring Lions Club of the participating clubs need to informed by the Leos
of their participation of LeoLympic 2018.
15. Participants are required to reach the venue 30 minutes before the event.
16. Any lost and injuries caused will not be responsible by the organizer.
17. The event is run with the system of Point System. Points are collected after every game
ended. The final points will be accumulated throughout the games and the highest score
will achieve the Overall Championship Trophy. Point system is set as below:
Champion – 10 points
First Runner Up – 7 points
Second Runner Up – 5 points

BADMINTON

Rules and Regulations:

1. International standard badminton rules apply.


2. Each Game is a TEAM BASED GAME with each team comprising 5 Categories and
every team will undergo “ELIMINATION ROUND” unless there are less than 5
participating groups.
3. There are FIVE ( 5 ) categories in the tournament :
a. Man’s Single
b. Woman’s Single
c. Men’s Doubles
d. Women’s Doubles
e. Mix Doubles
4. A game point of 30 will be played except in FINAL round.
5. " Best of 3 games” based on the 21 rally point system will be implemented for final round
matches.

- Every time there is a serve – there is a point scored.

- The side winning a rally adds a point to its score.

- At 20 all, the side which gains a 2 point lead first, wins that game.

-At 29 all, the side scoring the 30th point, wins that game.

- The side winning a game serves first in the next game.

6. Each team has to standby and report to the person in charge 5 minutes before the game
starts. Team(s) that fails to standby and/or report to the person in charge will be declared
walkover after 1 minutes of game period.
7. Players can register for different categories. Eg: 1st round Kevin Lee play in Men single,
2nd round play in Mix double.
8. Each team has to submit their team list before each game start.
9. Referees decision will be the final say of the games.
10. Any rough play or unsporting behaviour before, during and after the game will result in the
team to be disqualified.

BASKETBALL

Rules and Regulations:

1. The latest NBA International 5 on 5 rules apply.


2. Each team compromise of at least 5 main players and at most 2 reserves.
3. Each team has to standby and report to the person in-charged 5 minutes before the game
starts. Team(s) that fails to standby and/or report to the person in-charged will be declared
walkover after 1 minutes of game period.
4. Each players is allowed to represent ONE ( 1 ) team only and player is not allowed to
replace/switch to another team after the first game has been played.
5. In each game, we will calculate how much score you get and conceded. This will determine
the winners if both teams have the same point.
6. Each region will have a chance to versus each other. The 2 best teams will qualified to
FINAL while another 2 teams will fight for 2nd Runner up
or There are 3 categories : quarter finals, semi finals and finals.
7. Any complaints that come after second round will not be entertained.
8. Each match consists of 2 quarters with 15 minutes each.
9. The judgment of referee shall be the final decision.
10. Any rough play or unsporting behaviour before, during and after the game will result in the
team to be disqualified.
11. The ball may be thrown or batted in any direction with one or both hands.
12. Player cannot run with the ball.

13. No shouldering, holding, striking, pushing, or tripping in any way of an opponent. The first
infringement of this rule by any person shall count as a foul; the second shall disqualify
him until the next basket is made or, if there was evident intent to injure the person, for the
whole of the game. No substitution shall be allowed.
14. The referee shall be judge of the ball and shall decide when the ball is in play, in bounds, to
which side it belongs, and shall keep the time. He shall decide when a goal has been made
and keep account of the baskets, with any other duties that are usually performed by a
scorekeeper.

BOWLING

Rules and Regulations :

1. Winner (Gold and Silver) will be determined via elimination game with 3 players in a team.
International Standard rules of the game apply.
2. Players will have 10 mins to warm up before the start of the games.
3. A 3-3 system will be applied. Means a team of THREE(3) representatives will compete in
the games at 3 sets with total score of 900points(300each). The highest scoring 4 teams
will make it to the FINALS.
4. There will be no categories, each Leo Club will have to send 3 participants, and only teams
per club.
5. Scores from preliminary round will not be carried forward in the Finals round. Total of 900
score will again be calculated anew. Teams with the highest points will win the tournament
6. In the event of a draw, the teams will have to replay one set to determine the winner.

Lane Etiquette

1. Wait for the bowler to your right to deliver his/her ball if you're both bowling at about the
same time.

2. Remain behind your fellow bowler while he/she is bowling.

3. Confine your bowling to your own lane.

4. Observe the foul line, even in casual play. Play fair.

5. Never bowl in street shoes.

6. Avoid using someone else's ball without permission.

7. Limit swearing and bad language as much as possible.

8. Be ready when it's your turn.

FUTSAL

Rules and Regulations:

1. Winner (Gold and Silver) will be determined via elimination game with 5 players in a team
with 3 reserves. International Standard rules of the game apply.

2. Eight(8) persons per team. Each school allowed to send maximum 2 teams

3. Each team has to standby and report to the person in-charged 5 minutes before the game
starts. Team(s) that fails to standby and/or report to the person in-charged will be declared
walkover after 1 minutes of game period.

4. Each players is allowed to represent ONE ( 1 ) team only and player is not allowed to
replace other team player after the first game has been played.

5. The judgment of referee shall be the final decision.

6. 15 minutes per match. (7 mins a-side, 1 min time-off)

7. Elimination Round style. ( Depends on the number of participant )

8. The organizers reserve the rights to disqualify any participants without explaining any
grounds and no correspondence will be entertained

9. All participants under the age of 18 must have parental consent and Clubconsent (Either by
President, Vice President, Leo Advisor or Teacher)

10. Any rough play or unsporting behavior before, during and after the game will result in the
team to be disqualified.

TUG OF WAR

Rules And Regulations

1. A single team may consist of 6 players. Each team comprises of 3 males and 3 females.
2. Each Leo club is allowed to send only ONE team.

* if a Leo Club is a boys/girls ONLY school then this rule will not apply.

3. Participants are to be in shoes and not allowed to be in football boots or spikes/cleats.


4. Flour is not provided.
5. Inappropriate language will be tolerated.
6. Gloves may be worn.
7. Players may only pull for one team.
8. No wrapping the rope around any body part during pull.
9. First team to pull mid-rope marker; beyond midline is the winner.
10. Direction of pull will be decided by a coin toss.
11. Starting cues : “Take the strain” (teams pick up rope, prepare)

“Ready, Set, PULL!” (pull begins)
