1. A letter of English alphabet is chosen at random. Determine the probability that the chosen letter is a

2. The length of the shadow of a tower on the plane ground is 3 times the height of the tower. Find
the angle of elevation of the sun at that time.
3. Find the perimeter of the triangle formed by points 0,0 , 1,0 and 0,1 .
4. The king, queen and jack of clubs are removed from a pack of 52 playing cards. From the remaining
one card is selected at random. Find the probability of getting a king.

5. A two digit number is four times the sum of the digits. It is also equal to 3 times the product of digits.

13. In figure, O is the centre of a circle such that diameter AB 13 cm and
AC 12 cm. BC is joined. Find the area of the shaded region. (Take

21. Prove that the lengths of tangents drawn from an external point to a circle are equal.
22. Water is flowing at the rate of 2.52 km/h through a cylindrical pipe into a cylindrical tank, the radius
of whose base is 40 cm, If the increase in the level of water in the tank, in half an hour is 3.15 m, find
the internal diameter of the pipe.
23. A number x is selected at random from the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4. Another number y is selected at
random from the numbers 1, 4, 9 and 16. Find the probability that product of x and y is less than 16.
