ATM MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

in
“it is a windows based application which was developed using Visual Studio .NET with SQL Server. It is
a banking application developed to perform different banking services through the Automated Teller
Machines. These all functions include the regular transactions like cash deposits, cash withdrawals,
check balance enquiry, balance statements and change PIN Number. This system also provided with SMS
notification to the particular customer use this application

PROPOSED SYSTEM :
The proposed system overcomes the disadvantages of the existing system with the
introduction of high secure username and password authentication for the ATM Centers. This will
mitigate the risk event if the card is stolen. It does not face the technical errors like Cash withdraw, cash
deposit and check balance. Though it provide high security who accessing this application by sending
notification.

The stored details also include the information of the various centers in and around the ATM
services, which help in the relational maintenance of every transaction in the ATM Machine by
the customers with their concerned branch operations.

The major functions of ATM simulator system is to keep the following component intact.

• Consistency of the ATM System.

• Integrity of the ATM System.

• Data Security for all customers.

• Data Reliability, Unique and Accuracy.

• User Friendly web pages at admin side and User side.

• To check that the banking ATM system overcome the hurdles of the version Specific
standards.

SYSTEM SPECIFICATION :
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
The hardware for the system is selected considering the factors such as CPU processing
speed, memory access speed, peripheral channel speed, printer speed, seek time & relational
delay of hard disk and communication speed etc. The hardware specifications are as follows:

• Processor : Pentium IV 2.40GHz

• RAM : 2 GB
• Hard Disk : 40 GB
• Key Board : Standard IOS Keys
• Printer : Dot Matrix
• Floppy Disk : 1.44 MB FDD
• CD ROM : LG 52x
• Monitor : 14” color monitor
• Mouse : Index Optical Mouse

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS :
The software for the project is selected considering the factors such as working front
end environment, flexibility in the coding language, Database knowledge of enhances in
Backend technology etc.

• Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP

• Front End : Visual Basic .Net 2010
• Web Technology : ASP.NET
• Back End : MS-SQLSERVER 2000

SYSTEM ANALYSIS :
System analysis is a detailed study of the various operations performed by a
system and their relationship within and outside of the system. The question is: what must be
done to solve the problem? One aspect of analysis is defining the boundaries of the system and
determining whether or not a candidate system should consider other related system
EXISTING SYSTEM AND ITS DRAWBACKS :
The existing system for the ATM has only password authentication for withdrawing
money. So who ever knows the password and having card can get the money. It has high risk
when the card gets stolen. It also face the technical error in programming for withdraw cash
amount, checking balance and deposit.

DRAWBACK :
 The potential for identity theft is a major drawback related to ATM.
 Fraudulent card readers called skimmers are placed over the authentic reader to
transfer numbers and codes to nearby thieves.
 Spy cameras are also used by password voyeurs to collect access codes.
 Lost access cards are another potential for fraud.

ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM

• It gives the higher Security to the persons.
• The fingerprint analysis, gives the high security than other authentication.
• Relatively inexpensive and high levels of accuracy can be obtained.
• Small storage space required to store in database
• Easy to use
• High accuracy
• Ease to user identification

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Modules:
• AUTHENTICATION
• TRANSACTION MODULE
• DEPOSIT MODULE
• WITHDRAW MODULE
• CHECK BALANCE

AUTHENTICATION :
The authentication module plays a main role in the ATM simulation, such that the
authentication gives here, for finger print analysis of member, such that the finger print has
been recognized of a certain person. Already the matching patterns are given in database,
through the matching patterns, it has been matched with specified id it gives the authentication

TRANSFER MODULE:
The transactions that a bank customer can conduct through the ATMs (Automated
Teller Machines), by inserting or swiping the card and entering the PIN, include withdrawal of
money, deposits, fund transfer, bill payments, checking account details etc. The security of ATM
transactions relies mostly on the integrity of the secure cryptoprocessor: the ATM often uses
general commodity components that sometimes are not considered to be "trusted systems".

DEPOSIT MODULE :
Deposit mechanism including a Check Processing Module and Bulk Note Acceptor
(to allow the customer to make deposits) prepared an envelope or deposit slip. Figure out what
you need to do with them before you put your card in the machine (and hold up the line). Some
banks do not require that you use a deposit slip or envelope when making ATM deposits

WITHDRAW MODULE:
In order to give customers access to cash, customers may be allowed to withdraw
cash up to a certain amount that may be less than their usual daily withdrawal limit, but may
still exceed the amount of available money in their accounts, which could result in fraud if the
customers intentionally withdraw more money than what they had in their accounts

CHECK BALANCE :

Check their account balances as well as purchase pre-paid mobile phone credit. If the
currency being withdrawn from the ATM is different from that which the bank account is
denominated

SYSTEM DESIGN

LOGICAL DESIGN :
The logical design of a system pertains to an abstract representation of the data flows,
inputs and outputs of the system. This is often conducted via modelling, using an over-abstract
(and sometimes graphical) model of the actual system. In the context of systems design are
included. Logical design includes ER Diagrams.
