Community Driven Land Acquisition and Home Development


A project facilitated by Vincentian Foundation
Fact Sheet:
• When Typhoon Bopha hit the region in December of
2013, Compostela Valley in Mindanao was one of
the hardest hit. The property being purchased is a rolling hill with flat area.

• On September 2016, through member initiative and


collective resiliency of Awao Farmers Community
Savings Association (AFACSA), they acquired a 1 ½
hectare property.
• Property was acquired by AFACSA through its
members’ community savings. Transfer of Title
Ownership has been completed.
• On October 2016 the land was surveyed and the
approval survey result was received on November
2017 and the workshop on housing subdivision plan The land owner with her brother signing the document settlement
was conducted. among heirs with intent to sale. With them is the Brgy. Cpt. of
Bolusao (2nd from right) and Marlon Elema (Left) a volunteer of the
Vincentian Foundation.
Fact Sheet:
• Title of Ownership was received last August 2018.
Home design and subdivision plans are expected to
be presented by the architects by December 2018
for approval of the community.
• Estimated total cost for house construction and site
development is Six Million Pesos (P6,000,000.00)
• AFACSA is registered/ accredited in the Sangguniang
Bayan of Monkayo, Compostela Valley Province,
Mindanao. They have 40 members involved in the
housing project.
• A 1 unit decent house is projected to cost at P300,000 X
50 units = P15,000,000.00
