CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Prohibited drugs is a substance that have a harmful effects to the uses to their physical and mental well-
being. A drug substance can also called “Gateway Drugs”and can be consider as windows to unprotected
sex. Manufacturing and distribution of the drugs are prohibited except for research and study purposes
that are approve by the government. These drugs include opium and its components like morphine,
herion, cocaine, hallucinogeus such as lysergic acid diethylamide (LCD),Marijuana and other synthetic or
natural drugs with psychological effects.
Thus, a person is more vulnerable to doing dangerous acts because of depressed decision making – skill
.Those illegal drugs like herion, shabu, cocaine, and ecstacy can consider to be as illegal and according
to Republic Act No. 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 that protects citizens from
dangerous effect of those drugs and can cause of addiction that can lead to “ Death”.
As the Government notice the Legalization of Medical Marijuana in the Philippines because it can cure
diseases like Epilepsy or seizure, asthma, and respiratory disease. The Medical Marijuana was already
tested by professional and medical specialist in USA.
Through widely prohibited since the early 20th century in the united states of America in recent years
states such as Colorado, Washington, Oregon, and Alaska have descriminalize possession of marijuana
for both personal and medical use. Use the following sources to learn more about the ethical, legal,
moral, and logistical aspects if marijuana legalization.

The objective was to determine if adolescent presenting to a Pediatric Emergency of Department (PED)
for an alcohol- related went requiring event requiring medical care differ in terms of substance use ,
Behavioral and mental health problems ,peer relationship, and paternal monitoring based on their
history of marijuana use. This was the a cross – sectional comparison of adolescent 13-17 years old with
evidence of recent alcohol use, presenting to a (PED) with a self-reported history of Marijuana use.
Assesment tools included the adolescent Drinking inventor adolescents drinking questionnaire, Young
adult Drinking and Drinking Questionnaire.
Adolescents who use atm report greater substance use and more risk factors substances abuse that AU
– using adolescent. Screaming for a history of marijuana use may be important when treating adolescent
presenting with an alcohol – related event atm card – use may identify a high risk population which may
have important implications for ED clinians in the care of these patients, providing parental guidance,
and planning follow-up care.
The respondents of the study was twenty out of 106 grade 10 students of Lalig NHS. The survey of each
students answer the research by checklist.
