The Chart

Stage of Mind

Beta+ : 30 – 50 sequence per second (s/s) ….STRESS

Beta : 17 – 30 -do- ACTIVE/ALERT
(Alpha: 8 – 17 -do- RELAX
(Theta : 3.5 – 8 -do- JUST BEFORE SLEEP
(Delta : 0.5 – 3.5 -do- DEEP SLEEP

IQ STAGE

Beta+ : 90 – 110
Beta : 110 – 132
Alpha : 132 – 152

Sleep Cycle:
We sleep in cycles. One sleep cycle ranges from 110 to 130 minutes, which is about two
hours. In one cycle we go to the Delta stage only for 20 minutes and the battery of the
mind is charged which can last for four hours of work. It is the act of moving with the
natural cycles of nature. Our sleep disturbances result from breaking the natural laws of
nature!

People try to relax their mind in 4 ways through:

(a) Drugs – the most impure form to relax
(b) Alcohol and Smoking – artificially suppress thought process in the mind. It disturbs our
system and our level of creativity because we are not relaxing the mind in a natural way.
Exercise – generates chemicals that tires the body and muscles and relaxes the body.
(c) Television – watching television before going to bed activates your mind damaging brain
and mental system. It is advised to meditate for 20 minutes prior to going to bed.
(d) Purest way to relax the mind and take it to the Delta stage is through
Meditation.

Since one cycle ranges around two hours, the most ideal sleep is three cycles i.e. six
hours - preferably one cycle (2hrs) must be completed before midnight, after that we can
complete the other cycles and ideally get up at 4a.m. The fresh oxygen released by
nature at 4 a.m. is ideal for deep breathing (Pranayama), thus bringing in fresh oxygen to

the mind and therefore enhancing one’s creative potential as well as increasing one’s
intuitive faculties and inner powers .

How to come to the Delta Stage from the Beta stage?

People thought that the more a person thinks he is a genius. The IQ found in his Beta+
stage ranges between 90 to 210 s/s. In Beta stage the IQ ranges from 110 to 132 where
the mind is more relaxed and the IQ is higher. The more thoughts are generated, the
mental efficiency comes down. We all sleep in cycles. One cycle of each individual is
different which ranges from 110 to 132 minutes. We go to sleep in different levels but
when we make up our mind we go from the Beta stage to other stages. The body may be
tired, eyes may close but the mind is working. Even if one is snoring he may be in the
Beta stage.

Our stage level changes from Beta to Delta stage. In the Delta stage a person sleeps only
for twenty minutes and at this time the mind’s battery is charged for four hours. In this
stage even a short time of ten minutes of sleep you feel refreshed. After twenty minutes
we go up and sometimes reach the Beta stage and one cycle is over. At the end of the one
cycle we usually move and change from one side to the other side of our body. Some
people open their eyes, check the time, go to the washroom or check the windows and
doors for security and then go back to sleep. In the second cycle of Alpha, from 8-17s/s
and down to Delta takes another 20 minutes.

Light sleepers sleep in Beta+ stage otherwise if they were in the Delta stage they
wouldn’t wake up or be disturbed as they would be in the charging stage. When we are in
Beta stage from 25 to 30 s/s we have anxious dreams of being chased, nightmares.
Dreams and incessant irrelevant thoughts keep generating. Because we have used up the
battery we cannot fall asleep and we go into the third cycle and we immediately go out of
the stage and come up. It does not mean that we sleep more, we charge more – no! That
battery is consumed in the unnecessary wanderings of the mind. Another thing we have
to realize is that a person who is snoring does not need to be in the Delta stage. Any
small thing will wake him up. It is only in the Delta stage that he cannot wake up.
Thieves can enter to steal but the person is unaware…in deep sleep.

When we don’t complete cycles, either sleeping 3 hours, 5 hours instead of 4 to 6 hours
the mind will still want to complete the cycle and until you do the whole day it will still
have the desire to complete it – thus you will feel sleepy and tired. Therefore no creative
thoughts will flow. You will want to sleep and not because you didn’t sleep enough but
just because you did not complete the cycle.

Therefore, 6 hours of sleep is ideal. 8 hours is for sick people – patients who need to heal
the body from within as well as growing children up to 16 years of age, labourers who
work hard. Intellectuals don’t need more than 4hours – can go up to 6 hours but no more
than that – otherwise the battery that was charged will begin to get used up and we will
still feel tired even though we slept many hours.

Some of us having not completed cycles and/or not completed a cycle of 2hrs prior to
midnight resort to coffee throughout the day as a way to feel alert. Coffee is like giving
the mind a whip! Taking a cup of coffee is like whipping your mind six times and taking
a cup of tea is like whipping your mind three times. We are telling the mind to run faster
like a horse just because our battery was not fully charged. Creative ideas flow ONLY
when battery is charged.

It is advised to not sleep more than 4hours and never go to sleep after 4am. The bios of
great inventors, scientist, and scholars demonstrate that they had the ability to channel
their energy into making their work after waking at 4am.

Answers to Questions Raised After Talk:

- Present day fast lifestyle people have forgotten to experience real natural sleep. They
resort to sleeping pills, drugs, alcohol, and smoking for mental relaxation.
- In the Beta, active/alert stage, each person generates in the range of 27-30 sequence
per second (s/s) thoughts.
- Dreams disturb the quality of sleep because anxiety increases in the Beta stage as the
mind is not relaxed. You want to relax the mind to bring it to the Delta stage but
don’t know how to do so resulting in anxiety. Don’t suppress dreams at that time as
nightmares will create anxiety. Before going to sleep do meditation as it will relax
the mind and then go to sleep.
- Taking heavy meals before sleep is unhealthy as food has connection with sleep. In
the evening take a light meal in order to go to sleep early and wake up early. Taking
heavy meals regularly as a habit then it is impossible to get up early in the morning as
sleepiness will be there all the time.
- You can auto train your mind to get up in the morning initially with the use of an
alarm clock but never keep the mobile next to you.
- To overcome jetlags, sleep in between on flights while in sitting position otherwise
jetlag will come as the mind wants to rest.
- At the maximum you need to sleep at 10p.m. and channel your energy in the right
direction so the mind remains alert.
- Shift working is really unhealthy as you cannot take your mind to the charging stage.
