Building your Website

One of the assessments on this course is to build your own English language website. It doesn’t
have to be complicated or expensive. You don’t need to do any coding. The best way to start is to
look at what others have done before you.

Pre-class Task

Complete this task sheet before coming to class on the 23rd/24th January

Take a look at these websites created by a variety of musicians.

As you look at each site, make notes about the following questions:
1. What is the purpose of each website?
2. What are the strengths?
3. What could be improved?
4. What things do they have in common?
5. How are they different from one another?
6. Which one is the “best”? Why do you think so?
7. Which one is the “worst”? Why do you think so?
8. How can looking at websites help you to create your own?

Think about what you want to include in your website

Look for other musician websites that you think are good examples (bring them along to class)
