May 2018 – Present: Clinical Therapist Intern, Our Hope Association

▪ Provide group and individual therapy to women with co-occurring substance use and mental health
disorders using techniques from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
- Develop and facilitate curriculum for psychoeducational groups on various topics relevant to
substance abuse and mental health treatment and client identities and interests, such as self-
care, anxiety coping skills, healthy relationships, communication styles, post-traumatic stress
disorder, human trafficking warning signs and risks, relaxation techniques, and spectrums of
gender identity and sexuality.
- Reimplemented and co-facilitated Seeking Safety groups, an evidence-based practice to treat
trauma and addiction.
▪ Perform complete biopsychosocial assessments on clients entering treatment including ASAM criteria
and DSM-5 diagnosis.
▪ Monitor and document client progress on goals. Bring observations, concerns, and propose
interventions and solutions to coworkers in clinical team meetings.
▪ Provide case management services to assist clients in managing their needs across other agencies and
systems including healthcare, criminal justice, and child protective services.
▪ Participate in a community outreach program where clients and staff volunteer at local non-profits.
- Gilda’s Club, October 5, 2018 – Decorated the house for their annual Halloween party, serving
club members living with cancer and/or dealing with grief and loss.
- Kid’s Food Basket, January 11, 2019 – Put together parts of sack lunches to be handed out to
food insecure children in West Michigan.

April 2016 – Present: Receptionist, Clark Retirement Community

▪ Develop rapport with residents, family members, and other guests and serve as a first point of contact
in the agency that refers people to the appropriate services, departments, and employees, both on the
phone and in person.
▪ Attend twice yearly dementia trainings so I am able to recognize and report any concerns of
development or increases in dementia symptoms and can meet the unique needs of people with
dementia living in the community.

July 2014 – May 2016: Residential Instructor, Hope Network’s Pivot Crisis Center
▪ Worked in a temporary residential home as part of a team that assisted clinical and medical personnel
in promoting the recovery and independence of adults experiencing an acute mental health crisis and
co-occurring issues with substance use and homelessness.
▪ Facilitated an environment of kindness and compassion by building rapport with residents, being a
listening ear for those who needed to talk, an advocate for their recovery and hope, and by treating
each and every resident with dignity and respect.
▪ Coordinated the arrival of new intakes with clinicians from referral agencies, gave clients tours of the
facility, and completed necessary intake assessments, consent forms, and other paperwork.
▪ Taught coping skills and activities of daily living through facilitating groups and recreational activities.
▪ Monitored and documented resident progress on goals, changes in symptoms, and participation in
aspects of treatment such as groups and medication compliance.
