Goodmorning. Today I’d like to present to you our research study entitled “A Landscape of CPD Activities of CPAs.

 Continuing Prof Development or CPD is one of the talks of the town since the CPD LAW or RA 10912 was promulgated. This
law established the increased in CPD requirements to all diff professions. And as for CPAs, it went from 60 required units to
120 required units.If we are to calculate this, 120 required units is somehow an additional burden to the CPAs. But going
back to the very purpose of CPD, which is to UPGRADE AND UPDATE TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE of professionals
and as the environment within which the accounting professional functions is more dynamic and demanding today than
ever before, CPAs need to comply. Aside from bridging the gap as modernization and technological advancement take
place, CPAs need to comply to be able to renew their licenses.
 In Tuguegarao City, accountants have hard time in completing their CPD requirements. Common problems that
CPAs find in complying with the said CPD requirements is basically for these following reasons: 1. THE
METHODS OR ACTIVITIES THAT THEY CAN AVAIL IN ORDER TO EARN CPD UNITS. 2. THE
AVAILABILITY OF THE CPD ACTIVITIES IN THE CITY OR IN THE REGION.

 Thus, this study aimed to know and sought to answer the following questions. PROFILE. What are the
methods/activities of acquiring Continuing Professional Development units that helped them from their last
renewal?
Where these accountants go to complete and to participate in various CPD activities to meet their CPD
requirements. Is it time to put a prime importance to CPD opportunities in the region?

present.

Based on the criteria of APPROPRIATENESS, CLARITY, COHERENCE and ATTAINMENT OF PURPOSE OF THE STUDY.

For the results, Table 1 show the descriptive statistics of the CPAs engaged in CPD. Majority of the respondents acquired
their licenses on the years. The four sectors where CPAs may get connected with were fairly represented in our paper. The
government, however, showed the highest distribution at 50 percent or half of the total population.
CONCLUSION:
The study discovered that those novice accountants and those who are yet establishing their professional careers are more
aggressive and committed to CPD as they yearn for authority, status and self-worth. This is expected as CPD is designed to
enhance professional characteristics and capacities essential for quality service and so increase professional value

Table 2.provides the ranking of the CPD activities participated in by the respondents. The nature and frequency of
participation of CPAs to different PRC CPD Council accredited programs, activities and sources vary. Among the hit CPD
regime include participating in seminars, conferences and courses; taking formal studies like masteral and doctoral degrees;
organizing self-learning packages and trainings.
