Introduction

1. Purpose of M&E Plan

What is the purpose of this M&E Plan? Why is your organization creating an M&E Plan for this project?
What are the goals for this plan?

Some suggestions:

• To help the organization communicate and work together towards common objectives.
• To ensure that valuable data is properly collected, stored and used.
• To organize the many roles and responsibilities that M&E requires.

2. Organization and Project Overview

Background of Organization and Project

Tell us about your organization. Where do they operate? Who do they help? What is the change that
they are trying to create?
Planning for Monitoring and Evaluation 3

Introduce your project. Why did your organization decide that this would be a worthwhile project?

The world will need much more energy to power homes and fuel transport for a growing population with
rising living standards. Lives and livelihoods, economies and communities depend on convenient, reliable
and affordable energy to prosper and grow.
Electricity is an integral part of our daily life. As a nation, we are now at the mercy of electricity to
accomplish different task. The unreliability energy issue continues to increase daily, which has really
affected the country’s economy. The main source of energy is electrical energy where the demand of
energy have risen drastically in recent time.Nigeria is among the largest producers of crude oil that requires
its city to go green to help the citizen. The overdependence of oil to generate electricity in our recent times
comes with the exhalation of different and injurious gases which affects the functionality of our human body.
Hence, using solar to electrify villages in Nigeria and other sub-Sahara Africa countries, we would have
empowered numbers of Nigerian to be self-sufficient, energy independent from Nigeria dysfunctional
national power grid and entrepreneurial.

Organization Vision
Most organizations have a vision statement: a few sentences that describe the problem that they have
identified and the change that they would like to make. What is your organization’s vision?

Providing affordable and reliable electricity for homes and businesses

3. Project Description
Describe your project. What is the problem that it is fixing? Who will it help? What are the activities that
you will do? What kind of effect will your activities have?

Built 10kWh mini grid to power 100 homes in rural which will include
• Design mini-grid solar panel farm in the country (especially in places where they have sufficient sunlight) that will connect several villages to a central power
source. These will allow rural communities to be much more energy efficient and independent from national grid. More so, design solar panel used for rooftops
for those that don’t want to connect to the micro -grid network. Such energy source can be used to light up homes and power other appliances and pump water
from well for irrigation.
• Train technician in rural communities with the basic know how. They will be responsible with installation of solar panel, charging stations and small LED in
homes. These technicians will be responsible to deal with any sudden breakdown within the village.

• Conduct extensive visibility studies on potential site, couple with electrical power load assessment for
renewable energy project
• Prepare a complete comprehensive technical report to guide in the design and construction of
renewable energy project
• Provide necessary support/assistance for the implementation of renewable energy project
• Embark on travelling to project site to carryout electrical power audit, evaluation and monitor work progress in relation to quality of work done
• Provide the require guidance on renewable energy efficiency codes and standard to government agencies and industries.

Goal: If this project is successful, what will it achieve? What is the change that it will
create?

Sucessfully power 100 homes and SME's with affordable and constant energy
source within the rural communities. Reduce carbon emission drastically over a
period of time below two degrees and save numbers of tree with time.
