4.1 History:
The history of Eskayef traces back to 1979, when the company was incorporated in Bangladesh as a
subsidiary of the world-renowned multinational pharmaceutical company SmithKline & French
(SK&F), USA.

In 1990, SmithKline & French’s Bangladesh operation was acquired by Transcom Group in the wake of
the merger between SmithKline & French, USA and Beecham, UK. That was the first instance of taking
over of any multinational company by a Bangladeshi entity. After the acquisition, the new company was
named Eskayef Bangladesh Limited.

As Eskayef continued to increase its presence in the international arena, it was the time to project Eskayef
as a figure not only confined to Bangladesh but also in the global pharmaceutical world. This led to the
company emerging as Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Limited from 2017.

4.3 Production:
Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has various plants all over the country for their versatile products.
At present they have four plants in -
1. Tongi
2. Gazipur
3. Rupganj
4. Mirpur.

Allergan, Inc., with headquarter in Irvine, California, USA is a multi-specialty healthcare company
focused on discovering, developing and commercializing innovative pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical
devices and over-the-counter consumer products that enable people to live life to its greatest potential.
Allergan has its presence in more than 100 countries including Bangladesh.
Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has been marketing the products of Allergan since 2003. Eskayef is the
authorized distributor of Allergan products in Bangladesh. Currently available products are being
imported from USA and Ireland.

Currently Eskayef is marketing 9 eye care products of Allergan in Bangladesh market in different
therapeutic classes like:

 Anti-glaucoma preparations
 Lubricant eye drops
 Steroid with anti-infective
 Antibiotic

Eskayef is the only company in Bangladesh, which is marketing the highest number of anti-glaucoma
products.
