 Ethical Decisions

Ethics are the moral principles that govern a person’s behavior or the
conducting of any activity. People can be ethical in life when it comes to deciding between right
and wrong, an ethical person would choose to do the right thing. The ten rules that are shown
help understand the meaning of ethics and help to become a more ethical person. These rules are
the daily things that one should go by and follow. They go under the duty framework, natural
duties, and the virtue framework.
The ethical rules that reflect the duty framework are the doing no harm,
and following the law rules. These rules are similar to each other because they both are rules that
one should not go against automatically. One should not do harm to others because that would be
breaking the law and following the law goes under the duty framework because people shouldn’t
have to think twice about breaking the law knowing that it would be an unethical decision.
Causing harm to someone would be going against the duty framework by not making the ethical
decision that should have been made.
Secondly, the ethical rules that follow natural duties would be taking care
of yourself and always returning a favor. These are rules that one should always do because they
are the ethical way of going about certain things. Taking care of yourself is something that you
should already do without having to think about it because it is the right way to go about your
life each day. Not taking care of yourself would be unethical because it would be affecting you in
a bad way. Returning the favor is also a natural duty because when someone does a favor for
you, you should always return that favor because it is only the ethical and fair thing to do.
Finally, the ethical rules that reflect that of the virtue framework would
be staying true to yourself, having a goal, thinking of how your actions will affect others around
you, being nice, having a positive mindset, and to not surround yourself around negative people
(People, activities, places, etc). These rules are all ethical decisions that one makes through the
virtue framework because they are based on the person that you are such as if you are a person
that cares about others and yourself. One does not have to take these rules into account because
some may not care enough to put the energy into these 6 rules but they are the ethical thing to do
because nothing bad will come of doing them.
In conclusion, these 10 rules are ethical and the rules that one should live
by because they are the good morals that will make you a good person and will be able to allow
you to live a more proper life as well. They provide ethical behavior for oneself, others that are
cared for, and the daily life.
