DARKNESS.

REVEAL: We’re in the whirling expanse of space, dotted with


colorful GALAXIES, PLANETS, RINGS, and STAR SYSTEMS.

TONY (V.O.)
(echoing)
If we can’t protect the Earth...

We focus in on an ORANGE, WRECKED planet. TITAN. There are a


few FIGURES on its surface. From far away, we can see who it
is. NEBULA is still standing as TONY STARK sits in mourning.

He looks up at Nebula, his face heavy with loss.

TONY (V.O.)
You can be damned sure that we’ll
avenge it.

CUT TO BLACK.

INT. TONY’S LAB - LATER

RHODEY and BANNER looks across the monitors in the lab,


impatient.

Some of them have readouts: NO SIGNAL. CONNECTION LOST.


ERROR. SCAN INCONCLUSIVE.

Banner presses a button on the keyboard. The readouts go away


and are replaced by scrolling code, maps, and what’s clearly
a signal with ZERO BARS.

The readouts return: NO SIGNAL. CONNECTION LOST. ERROR. SCAN


INCONCLUSIVE.

STEVE (O.S.)
Anything?

Rhodey and Banner turn to see STEVE ROGERS standing in the


doorway.

BANNER
No signal. Like always.

STEVE
Well we can’t lose hope. At this
point it’s all we’ve got.

RHODEY
Yeah, maybe. Or maybe it’s our hope
that’s killing us.

Steve gives Rhodey a disapproving look.

EXT. NEW YORK STREET - DAY

The streets look almost the same. The only difference are the
MISSING PERSON POSTERS posted on every surface:

- A SMILING WOMAN in a family picture, with text underneath


that reads: Missing, but not forgotten.

- A YOUNG BOY, with text underneath that reads: Please help


me find my baby boy.

- A TEENAGE GIRL with text that reads: $1,000 reward if


found. Lost during the Rapture.

Most of the posters look quite old. Someone STEPS on one that
fell to the street.

Life is continuing with frustrating normalcy. People are


going in and out of shops. Getting on the bus. Laughing.

Natasha, in an alleyway and mounted on her motorcycle,


watches with an almost sickened face.

Her wheels SCREECH as she speeds away, leaving MISSING


POSTERS fluttering in the wind.

INT. WAKANDA THRONE ROOM - DAY

From behind the throne, we see the DORA MILAJE are standing
guard over a NEW KING. As we circle around, we see that the
new king is M’BAKU, but his face is somber.

SHURI, OKOYE, and FORMER QUEEN DIVINE JUSTICE approach the


throne, still heartbroken. The Dora Milaje let them pass to
the throne and they kneel before the king.

M’Baku considers them for a moment, and then opens his arms
wide. Shuri and the Former Queen Divine Justice approach and
embrace him, allowing themselves to be vulnerable. They cry.

Okoye hangs back. M’baku considers her, and addresses Shuri.

M’BAKU
Mourn not. The King is not dead.

She looks up at him, confused.

M’BAKU (CONT’D)
I visited the ancestral plane,
T’challa was not among the kings
that we’ve laid to rest.

OKOYE
We could not bury him. I saw him
disintegrate with my own eyes.

M’BAKU
And you believe that disintegration
would stop T’Challa from joining
his ancestors?

Okoye does not answer this. She merely bows her head in
acknowledgement.

M’BAKU (CONT’D)
T’challa is alive. Your King is not
dead.

Former Queen Divine Justice looks up at M’Baku, tears still


flooding her eyes.

DIVINE JUSTICE
Thank you.

M’BAKU
And if he’s alive...

He shifts his gaze to Shuri.

M’BAKU (CONT’D)
Then he can be found.

Shuri nods, but does not look any more hopeful.

INT. SHURI’S LAB - DAY

Shuri enters her lab, still looking crestfallen. She sits in


front of one of her workstations and makes a few gestures at
the screen.

The BLACK PANTHER suit generates in a projection. She walks


around it as a picture of the globe appears. The globe spins -
and then the text “NOT FOUND” appears in Wakandan.

Shuri looks disheartened. But then an idea hits her. She


types something into the computer.

The screen GLITCHES for a moment, and then the globe appears
again. This time, a TARGET is found in the Wakandan jungle.

The screen GLITCHES and FREEZES. The targets are EVERYWHERE.


ALL AROUND THE GLOBE.

SHURI
What...?

A flashing notice appears on her screen.

TARGET FOUND.

INT. AVENGERS HQ - DAY

PEPPER POTS stares out of a large, glass window on one of the


upper decks of the Avengers compound. She’s absentmindedly
picking at her fingertips, which are RAW and RED.

A LOW BEEP echoes and Pepper closes her eyes.

PEPPER
Come in.

Rhodey enters, alongside Banner. She doesn’t turn to look at


them, but she knows who it is.

PEPPER (CONT’D)
Don’t tell me you’re giving up.

RHODEY
Pepper...we can’t...

PEPPER
You haven’t tried, okay? Not hard
enough. Not...not as hard as he
would have...

Her voice snags on a tear. She chokes it back. Rhodey


embraces her.

RHODEY
I know. It’s hard for me too. You
know how much Tony saved me. I’d
give anything to save him right
back.

PEPPER
Then do it.

BANNER
The signal is gone, Pepper. We’re
looking...but...there’s a whole
universe...

PEPPER
Then search the whole universe.

Banner puts his head down in shame.

BANNER
We are.

PEPPER
(to Banner)
You were lost out there too. And
you came back. Tony can too.

Banner’s brow furrows. He looks down at his shoes.

RHODEY
Pepper. I’m sorry. We’re not giving
up, but it’s time I gave you this.

Rhodey hands a SMALL SILVER DISC to Pepper.

PEPPER
What’s this?

RHODEY
Tony wanted you to have it. He
always said that if there came a
time that he couldn’t come back,
that I should give this to you.

She clutches it in her hand. Rhodey start to leave. Banner


lingers for a moment and Rhodey pulls him along.

PEPPER
Where are you going?

RHODEY
Tony said that you should open that
alone.

She looks down at it as Rhodey and Banner leave the room.

Alone, she turns the disc around in her hand, examining it


closely. On one side it’s brushed completely smooth. On the
other is A FINGERPRINT.

Tentatively, she PRESSES her finger to the fingerprint.

A BEAM of LIGHT shoots out of the DISC.

Pepper SCREAMS and DROPS IT on the GROUND. Up from the disc


comes a LIFE-SIZED PROJECTION OF TONY.

TONY HOLOGRAM
Don’t freak out!

PEPPER
Dammit Tony!

TONY HOLOGRAM
Yeah, sorry about that. Knew I
shoulda put a warning on this
thing.

PEPPER
What the...are you...

TONY HOLOGRAM
Nope. Just a copy.

PEPPER
What...what’s going on...?

TONY HOLOGRAM
Rhodey should’ve explained. That’s
the deal. Man, did he screw this
up? I’m assuming he’s still here.
Jeez, what could’ve got me that
didn’t get him?

Pepper stares at the hologram, shaking her head. Angry.

PEPPER
I can’t believe you.

TONY HOLOGRAM
Sure you can. When you think about
it, this is exactly the kind of
shit I’d do.

PEPPER
This isn’t you.

TONY HOLOGRAM
Well, it’s pretty close.

PEPPER
You’re a genius, Tony. But you
don’t know what you’re talking
about.

She turns OFF the Hologram. She holds the silver disc tight
in her hand...and then THROWS it across the room with a YELL.

She moves her hands down to hold her stomach, which is


PROTRUDING SLIGHTLY. She begins to cry.

INT. BAR - DAY

THOR TAKES A SHOT and slams the glass down on the bar.

THOR
Another.

The bartender approaches Thor apprehensively.

BARTENDER
Hey...uhhh...buddy. You can’t have
pets here.

REVEAL: Rocket Raccoon is sitting next to Thor on a stool.

ROCKET
I ain’t nobody’s pet, you
understand me?

The Bartender’s eyes go wide.

BARTENDER
What the hell?

THOR
Sounds to me like he’s not a pet.

Rocket downs his shot and grimaces before he too slams his
glass back on the bar.

ROCKET
Hey buddy how about you fetch this
pet some more ethanol?

The Bartender looks between Thor and Rocket, bamboozled.

THOR
You heard him.

BARTENDER
(sighing)
I gotta quit drinkin’.

He pours two more shots for the duo, who accept their drinks
quietly, pensively. They both look into their drinks for a
moment, wondering if it will even help.

ROCKET
Thanks for that.

THOR
Don’t mention it.

They drink. On the TV behind the bar, a NEWS STORY catches


Thor’s attention.

NEWS ANCHOR
It’s been only days since the
mysterious Rapture tragedy that saw
millions all over the globe turning
to dust.

The NEWS STORY begins showing FACES on the screen, followed


by CELL PHONE FOOTAGE of people turning to dust.

NEWS ANCHOR (CONT’D)


While no cause has yet been found
for this tragic event, some are
finding comfort in the thought that
their loved ones are in a better
place.

The News Show turns to a CRYING WOMAN, but she smiles through
her tears.

CRYING WOMAN
I just know my Amber was taken by
God. It means we’re at the end-
times, but I just thank God that in
his wisdom, he took her.

Thor turns away from the screen.

INT. SANCTUM SANTORUM - DAY

Banner creaks open the front door of the Sanctum Santorum.


The staircase still has a HOLE in it. He approaches it.

BANNER
Jeez, you think with magic...

He looks up the staircase.

BANNER (CONT’D)
Hello?

No response.

BANNER (CONT’D)
Wong?

Still no response. Banner steps up the staircase and goes to


the upper level.

In front of the gigantic bay window is a LEVITATING FIGURE.


WONG. He’s BEARDED and deep in concentration.

BANNER (CONT’D)
Oh.

WONG doesn’t make a movement or even acknowledge Banner’s


presence.

BANNER (CONT’D)
Oh...kay...I’m just gonna...

He walks towards a STACK of books that appear to have


different SYMBOLS on them. Banner reaches for one with a
symbol of a GAUNTLET.

WONG
Do -

Banner JUMPS, scared.

WONG (CONT’D)
- not touch that.

BANNER
S- sorry about that.

Banner backs away from the books, his hands in the air.

Wong hasn’t even opened his eyes or turned around yet.

BANNER (CONT’D)
So - uh...could you hear me? Or...

A long, awkward pause as Wong opens his eyes, and rolls them.

WONG
Unfortunately, I could. Strange,
however...

He closes his eyes again.

BANNER
So you haven’t lost hope either?

Wong doesn’t respond.

EXT. CLINT’S FARM - DAY

Natasha pulls up to the farm on her motorcycle, kicking up


clouds of dust.

She dismounts and takes a look around.

INT. CLINT’S FARMHOUSE - DAY

Natasha unlocks the door and enters.

She surveys the place. There’s soup on the floor. Toys


scattered in the living room.

Bothered, she makes her way to Clint’s room.

INT. CLINT’S ROOM - DAY

She enters his room to find the bed unmade. The window open.

His closet is open. She walks in to find that his bow has
been taken from its mounting place. Her eyes furrow.

She leaves in a hurry.

EXT. AVENGERS HQ - DAY

Steve Rogers, flanked by Rhodey and DOCTOR SELVIG head


towards a QUINJET that’s waiting for them to board.

STEVE
Thanks for coming, doctor.

SELVIG
Of course. I’ve never been to
Wakanda.

STEVE
Banner’s been searching everywhere
and hasn’t found any sign or
signal. The Wakandans think they
might have a lead.

SELVIG
They’d be the ones to have it.
Their tech is just...

He makes an exaggerated attempt to grasp at the words.

RHODEY
We get it. They’re dope.

They enter the QUINJET.

INT. SANCTUM SANTORUM - DAY

Banner watches as Wong sets up a gigantic representation of


the universe. Like Shuri’s display, there are TARGETS on it.

They’re everywhere, and as we ZOOM OUT on the universe, we


see that there are TARGETS all over the universe.

BANNER
Are those - ?

WONG
Essence. Your shade. What you would
call a soul.

INTERCUT

EXT. WAKANDA - DAY

Captain Rogers, Selvig, and Rhodey step out of the quinjet


and on to the landing pad.

Shuri and the Queen walk out of the palace to greet them.

WONG (V.O.)
Each of us carries with us a shade
of what makes us us.

EXT. COUNTRY ROAD - DAY

Natasha SPEEDS on her motorcycle, a concerned look on her


face. On her helmet, a HUD interface shows that she’s headed
somewhere, and she’s close.

WONG
And this shade of us leaves a mark
on us, and everyone it touches.

INT. PEPPER’S ROOM - DAY

Pepper lays in bed, looking at Tony’s side.

WONG
And when this shade departs, it
leaves a trace.

INT. SANCTUM SANTORUM - DAY

Banner moves closer to the gigantic holographic EARTH that


Wong has created, moving a finger to TOUCH a TARGET.

Wong PULLS it away.

WONG
Do not touch the souls!

Banner withdraws his hand.

BANNER
Sorry.

WONG
This was the state of the Earth the
moment before it happened.

He REWINDS slightly, and the TARGETS go away.

WONG (CONT’D)
Then when it happened...

The TARGETS GLOW, some spots more brightly than others.

WONG (CONT’D)
It has been this way ever since.

BANNER
So do you think they’re still
alive?

WONG
If Strange was able, he would
communicate with me.

BANNER
What about Tony?

WONG
Unfortunately I cannot find
individual souls. To do that would
require...

He makes A HOLOGRAPHIC version of the Soul Stone.

BANNER
Yeah well, that would be great.

Wong makes holographic versions of the other stones.

WONG
One stone to see the souls -
(the soul stone glows)
- one to eradicate their memory-
(the mind stone glows)
- one to forge a new reality -
(the reality stone glows)
- one to power the energy exchange-
(the power stone glows)
(MORE)

WONG (CONT'D)
- one to take them across space-
(the space stone glows)
- and trap them for all eternity.
(the time stone glows)
But I cannot find where they are.
No parallel dimensions or time
pockets of the millions I have
searched...

He waves a hand and dismisses the hologram with a wave.

BANNER
But we can find them, right?
They’re out there. Trapped for all
eternity. You JUST said that! And
if they’re trapped we can save
them, right?

WONG
A malevolent being is at the helm
of the most power forces in the
history of the universe. I do not
know what hope we possibly have.

EXT. TITAN - DAY

The surface of the dead planet looks desolate, dusty, and


completely trashed, with pieces of GIANT BUILDINGS and
SPACESHIPS crumbling everywhere.

There doesn’t appear to be anyone there. Just the howl of the


wind. Just under the WIND, there’s a TRACE of something else.

MUSIC.

The HOWL of AC/DC grows louder as we get closer to the


planet, and we see that there’s actually a SPACESHIP that
looks more put-together than the rest.

On a CLOSER INSPECTION we see that the spaceship is crudely


constructed. A FRANKENSTEIN MONSTER OF A SHIP.

INT. SHIP COCKPIT - DAY

We finally find the source of the music, a ZUNE.

It’s BLASTING in the cockpit. A pair of LEGS are sticking out


from underneath the main console, and TONY STARK rolls out
like he’s working underneath a hot rod.

TONY
Hey Blue!

REAR OF SHIP - INTERCUT

NEBULA, who is busy underneath another console fusing wires


together, sighs. She doesn’t respond.

TONY (O.S.)
Do we have anything that can draw
heat from a thermonuclear coil?

Nebula thinks about it, sighs again, and gets up.

INT. SHIP COCKPIT - DAY

Tony PUNCTURES A HOLE in a BROWN POUCH, which begins to leak


powder. He catches the powder in his mouth, making a face as
he does it.

TONY
(mouth full)
Also, I’m not sure this stuff is
actually keeping me alive. You’re
punking me aren’t you. This is
like, dirt or something.

Nebula throws down a THERMONUCLEAR COUPLER, a device that


looks roughly like a BOP-IT, at Tony’s feet, then walks away.

TONY (CONT’D)
Thank you!

Nebula doesn’t respond. Tony examines the THERMONUCLEAR


COUPLER, and the fake smile fades from his face.

TONY (CONT’D)
(to himself)
The kid would’ve loved this.

His face turns determined as he takes another swig of BROWN


DIRT, gets back on the roller, and goes back to work.

INT. SHURI’S LAB - DAY

Steve Rogers stares at Shuri’s output of the globe. It still


has TARGETS everywhere. Selvig is deep in conversation with
Shuri, and we can overhear them.

SELVIG
But if each energy signal is
different...

SHURI
Yes, some are larger than others.

SELVIG
Then what does that mean for us?

SHURI
It means that some of the energy
signals are larger than the other
ones. They left larger holes.

This catches Steve’s attention.

STEVE
Holes?

Shuri walks to her workspace and types.

SHURI
When I couldn’t track the energy
signal of T’Challa’s suit, I
decided to instead track the energy
signal that appeared the moment
that he disappeared.

The globe goes back to a blank slate, then it shows the


single target in the Wakandan jungle.

SHURI (CONT’D)
But then...

The targets appear EVERYWHERE again.

SHURI (CONT’D)
I didn’t know what I was seeing,
but then I realized that the energy
is coming out of these holes
continuously...almost as if...

She shakes her head, smiling, as if what she’s about to say


is simultaneously exciting and insane.

STEVE
As if what?

SHURI
I think that what we’re seeing are
passages to them...in another
dimension.

STEVE
Another dimension...?

SELVIG
Of course!

STEVE
So...they’re alive?

Shuri nods her head proudly.

Steve cracks a smile for the first time in a while.

STEVE (CONT’D)
Buck...

He turns to look at Shuri.

STEVE (CONT’D)
How do we find them?

INT. QUANTUM REALM

SCOTT LANG WAKES UP, surrounded by SWIRLING QUANTUM ENERGY.

SCOTT
Man, I just had the weirdest dream.

He’s floating in an endless expanse.

SCOTT (CONT’D)
Oh yeah.
(into his communicator)
Guys? Are you there? Can you hear
me yet? I’ve tried every
channel...I’m starting to feel like
the problem might be on your end...

Up ahead, a WHIRLING, BLUEISH/GREEN VORTEX opens up, like a


whirlwind.

SCOTT (CONT’D)
Oh God. That can’t be good.

It swallows up everything around it, Scott runs in the


opposite direction.

SCOTT (CONT’D)
Okay. Visual of a blue green
vortex. Not teal. I repeat, not
teal. Green and blue!

He starts to run up toward an CLIFF of sorts, overlooking a


VALLEY inside the QUANTUM REALM. Vortexes of different COLORS
are opening everywhere.

SCOTT (CONT’D)
And...lots of other colors!

The VORTEXES grow wider, and Scott is ABSORBED by ENERGY FROM


ALL COLORS OF THE RAINBOW.

SCOTT (CONT’D)
AHHHHHHH!!!

The COLORS ALL PHASE TO A TRANSPORTATIVE WHITE LIGHT.

EXT. FIELD - DAY

Scott OPENS HIS EYES.

He gets up and takes a look around. His HELMET slides down to


reveal his FACE.

SCOTT
What the...

There doesn’t seem to be anyone for MILES.

SCOTT (CONT’D)
How did I...?

There’s nothing but the whirl of the wind and a few dust
devils among the weeds.

Scott starts walking, but he doesn’t make it three steps


before suddenly he hears something. He puts his MASK back on.

All of the sudden, a WHIRLING VORTEX of GOLD and RED appears


before him. The VORTEX swirls more rapidly, and then out of
the VORTEX COMES TONY STARK, with graying hair and a dark
blue JUMPSUIT with the SHIELD LOGO adorned on it.

He looks pretty impressed with himself.

Scott blinks, unable to believe his eyes.

SCOTT (CONT’D)
Tony...? You’re...

TONY
Unbelievably good looking? A
revolutionary? Here? All of the
above? Yup, all of the above. A
plus. Oh that?

He gestures to the VORTEX.

TONY (CONT’D)
Yeah, a friend did it to me once,
gave me some really good ideas.
(MORE)

TONY (CONT’D)
Come on in. It won’t tear your
atoms apart. Too much.

He WALKS THROUGH IT.

Scott looks around, takes a deep breath, and FOLLOWS TONY


through the vortex.

INT. SWORD HQ - DAY - FUTURE

Scott EMERGES through the portal to APPLAUSE.

He’s given a JUICE BOX and a HANDFUL of BLUEBERRIES by WHITE


COATED LAB TECHS. Tony WATCHES, drinking his own juice box.

SCOTT
Thanks?

TONY
No problem. Time travel is
exhausting, isn’t it?

SCOTT
Yeah, it -

He stops, staring at Tony, only just now starting to notice


his graying hair.

SCOTT (CONT’D)
Time travel?

TONY
Yeah.

SCOTT
I travelled through time?

TONY
Yup.

SCOTT
How...how far did we go?

TONY
We are 8 years removed from point
zero. That’s when the big -
snappening - happened.

SCOTT
8 years? We went 8 years just like
that?

TONY
Well no, you falling through a time
portal in the quantum realm caused
that, but us being here to pick you
up? All me, dude. Just taking
advantage of holes in our reality.

SCOTT
Holes?

TONY
Boy, we got a lot to catch you up
on.

SCOTT
We?

TONY
(into his microphone)
He’s here.

A door opens behind tony, and an OLDER CASSIE LANG, 18, sees
her father face to face for the first time in 8 years.

SCOTT
Cassie?

Cassie, forming tears in her eyes, runs into her father’s


arms.

CASSIE
I didn’t think I’d ever see you
again...

Scott, shocked, holds his daughter close.

SCOTT
I’m so glad you’re safe...

TONY
She thought you disappeared when
her mom did.

SCOTT
Her mom disappeared?

TONY
We really have a lot to catch you
up on.

INT. ABANDONED WINDMILL - DAY

A PERCH near the top, which shows signs of habitation, is


otherwise EMPTY.

A GRAPPLE HOOK enters the scene and TIGHTENS.

Natasha pulls herself to the PERCH, and checks the area.

Whatever she’s looking for, she doesn’t find it. She leaves,
disappointed.

EXT. WAKANDA JUNGLE - DAY

Suri LEADS THE WAY into the JUNGLE, using a handheld device
with a hologram on top. On the DIGITAL READOUT we can see
that they’re tracking a BRIGHT GREEN FISSURE.

Steve Rogers, Selvig, and Rhodey follow closely.

SURI
There’s a fissure over here. A
massive energy readout, but it’s
different than the others...

Steve examines the area, looking across the jungle with a


somber face.

STEVE
This is where we found Vision.

RHODEY
You’re right...this is definitely
the spot...

SURI
We have smaller energy readouts all
around us, and all over Wakanda,
but this...

She WALKS over the patch of grass where the FISSURE displays
on her screen.

SURI (CONT’D)
Do you feel anything different?

Steve looks around. In his memory, BUCKY falls to ashes


before his eyes.

STEVE
(devastated)
No...

INT. TONY’S LAB - DAY

Thor walks into Tony’s lab with Rocket Raccoon on his


shoulder.

Rocket jumps off and onto on of the nearby computer consoles.

He OPENS UP the back of one.

ROCKET
Man, I feel like we’re takin’ stuff
from a dead guy. Not that I’m
saying it’s wrong. I’m just saying
it’s what it feels like.

THOR
Do you really have an idea or is
this just a scheme to salvage
parts?

ROCKET
It is a scheme to salvage parts,
but I really do have an idea -

He PULLS an important part out of the computer console.

The LIGHTS shut off.

ROCKET (CONT’D)
I meant for that to happen. Come
on.

They go for the exit, only to be confronted by Bruce and


Wong.

BRUCE
What are you guys doing here?

ROCKET THOR
Nothing. Thieving.
BRUCE
Thor...you’re stealing from Tony?

THOR
The mouse thinks he can contact
him.

ROCKET
As long as he’s not a pile of ash.

BRUCE
How...how were you going to do
that, exactly?

ROCKET
I know where Quill and the rest of
them fought Thanos. And I know
because I implanted them all with
proton trackers when we first met.

THOR
Have you put a tracker on me?

ROCKET
...no. But anyway, if Stark met up
with these guys, I’ll need this -

He holds up a part.

ROCKET (CONT’D)
- to confirm it.

BRUCE
You’re using the diode from his
monitor?

ROCKET
Sure. It’s been lookin’ at Stark’s
face forever. His smarmy smile is
probably burned into the thing.

He POPS it into a handheld device of his own, and solders it


into place.

BRUCE
So do you just carry a soldering
iron with you everywhere you go
or...

ROCKET
Yeah, you don’t?

He finishes up, puts a PLASTIC CASING over it, and SWITCHES


IT ON.

It immediately WHIRS and PROJECTS a video of TONY STARK


looking into the camera, in full Iron Man suit, on Titan.

ROCKET (CONT’D)
Here we go.

They WATCH the projection.

TONY PROJECTION
Okay, do you understand your part

listening?

Tony stares directly into the camera with a sardonic look.

QUILL PROJECTION (V.O.)


Okay, if you could just explain it
one more time that’d be great.

Tony rolls his eyes.

ROCKET
Oh yeah, I also record everything
they do. Don’t worry about it.

He turns his attention back to the projection.

TONY PROJECTION (V.O.)


Okay, we’ve got no more time left.
Places everybody. Opening night.

Rocket looks at the back of the device.

ROCKET
Says they were on a planet called
Titan.

BRUCE
What happened there?

ROCKET
Here, let me just...

Rocket FAST FORWARDS the footage until he is face to face


with THANOS in the projection.

THANOS PROJECTION (V.O.)


I...had...to...

ROCKET
Oh God, he’s even uglier on screen.

QUILL PROJECTION (V.O.)


Where’s Gamora?!

ROCKET
Oh no...

They continue watching, witnessing the events on Titan


firsthand.

SOUL STONE - DAY

A BRIGHT ORANGE SUN shines on an endless expanse. Its rays


hit a farm alongside a RIVER VALLEY.

The WHEEL OF A WHEELBARROW trudges across a muddy path.

It’s full of GIANT TURNIPS, CARROTS, and BEETS, and it’s


being pushed by no other than THANOS, the MAD TITAN.

He lets the wheelbarrow rest, wiping sweat from his brow.

As he looks off into the distance, a SMALL FIGURE approaches


him. It’s YOUNG GAMORA.

YOUNG GAMORA
It’s beautiful.

THANOS
Thank you, little one.

YOUNG GAMORA
Was it worth it?

This catches Thanos.

He turns to face her, but she’s gone.

His arms fall to his sides, crestfallen. Doubt flickers


across his face.

INT. NEBULA’S SHIP - DAY

Tony triumphantly approaches Nebula, who is staring out the


windshield of the ship.

TONY
Okay, so we’ve got the fuel pump
finally up and running. You really
crashed this thing as hard as you
could didn’t you.

NEBULA
And it barely made a scratch on
him.

TONY
Yeah well, I can’t blame you for
trying. I hit him with a building.
To a similar effect.

NEBULA
There was no stopping him.

TONY
And now there’s no stopping us.

Nebula looks up at Tony, who is offering her the helm of the


ship. She smirks and gets up, then sits in the captain’s
chair.

TONY (CONT’D)
Okay, next stop, off this rock!

Nebula ENGAGES the engine and it ROARS to life.

Tony holds on to his seat as Nebula’s ship TAKES OFF.

TONY (CONT’D)
S.S. DADDY ISSUES HERE WE GO!

INT. WAKANDAN THRONE ROOM - DAY

Steve Rogers looks out at the Wakandan jungle as Shuri


addresses the King.

M’BAKU
You know why I cannot say yes to
this.

SHURI
You would not have been able to see
T’Challa in the ancestral plane. He
is not your ancestor. But if I
could meet with him, speak with
him...

M’BAKU
You are not the King!

SHURI
But I am the descendant of the
rightful -

M’BAKU
You are the sister of the rightful
King. Do not forget.

SHURI
This is bigger than us.

M’BAKU
Nothing is bigger than us.

STEVE
You’re wrong.

M’Baku turns on Steve, outraged that an outsider would dare


speak. Even Steve Rogers.

M’BAKU
That will be the only thing you say
to the King of Wakanda.

SHURI
Don’t pull the King card on Captain
Rogers, M’Baku.

M’BAKU
That you would dare speak to me
like this after all I have done for
your family, Shuri. I cannot accept
your request. I must ask you to
leave.

Shuri glowers at M’Baku, disappointed. She signals to Captain


Rogers, and they leave. M’Baku stares them down as they go.

INT. SWORD HEADQUARTERS- LECTURE HALL - DAY

Scott Lang FINISHES his juice, SLURPING through the straw.


He’s sitting in the audience section of the lecture hall.

Tony turns to face him, revealing that he’s finishing up a


WHITEBOARD discussion filled with TIMELINES, figures of the
INFINITY STONES and their LOCATIONS, the INFINITY GAUNTLET,
drawings of PLANETS, EQUATIONS, and MORE.

TONY
Are you finished?

Scott takes the juice straw out of his mouth.

SCOTT
With this one, yeah.

He references the whiteboard behind him.

TONY
This is gonna be on the test you
know. Are you absorbing any of
this?

SCOTT
It’s alot.

TONY
Yeah it is, that’s why I’m -

He gesticulates, frustrated. Scott raises his hand.

TONY (CONT’D)
You don’t need to raise your hand -

SCOTT
Oh, okay. So, which timeline are we
in?

Tony sighs, clearly having failed.

TONY
Timeline alpha. Also known as 616.

SCOTT
Okay. And where’s everyone else?

Tony’s face turns more solemn.

TONY
Timeline alpha subtheta.

SCOTT
So they’re in our timeline.

TONY
Yup, but in a pocket dimension of a
timeline that existed before Thanos
shattered time.

SCOTT
And how do I figure into this.

TONY
You are the only one who can save
them.

SCOTT
...how?

TONY
Okay, you know how I rescued you
from that very scary place?

SCOTT
Yeah.

TONY
Well, Newton, you were in a
subatomic cross-dimensional vortex
known as the Quantum Realm.

He references a giant, squiggly, MULTICOLORED figure on the


BOARD.

SCOTT
Yeah yeah, I know all about the
Quantum Realm.

TONY
Do you, Scott? Because I feel like
I’ve gotta spell this out for you.

SCOTT
Spell what out.

Tony closes his eyes, trying to cool himself down.

TONY
Who recruited you? You’re a middle
management decision all the way.
Sorry Cass.

REVEAL: Cassie is sitting a few seats behind her dad, trying


to not look embarrassed.

Scott turns around.

SCOTT
You’re telling me you get this?

CASSIE
It’s my reality, so...

SCOTT
Your reality. Right.

Scott turns around to face the board, ready to learn.

SCOTT (CONT’D)
Let’s start from the beginning.

TONY
What do I look like, a DVD menu?

He stares down Scott, who looks earnest.

TONY (CONT’D)
Okay, you’re retaking remedial
reality. Class is in session.

He claps his hands and goes back to the whiteboard.

SOUL STONE - DAY

The sun shines bright on a large, ORANGE-ish expanse.

The wind seems to be blowing.

In the expanse, we hear PETER PARKER’S VOICE.

PETER
Hello?

STARLORD
Dude, we can’t keep doing the hello
thing forever.

PETER
I just...I dont get where we are.

STARLORD
Me either. Are you just seeing
ORANGE?

PETER
Yeah.

DRAX
I don’t see the orange.

PETER
Not the fruit ya dufus, the color.

DRAX
Oh. Yes. That I see.

MANTIS
Hello? Can anyone hear me?

STRANGE
Yes, we can all hear you.

PETER
Where are we?

STRANGE
The endgame.
