Ambroxol HCl (hydrochloride), or better known as ambroxol, is a drug from the mucolytic group which

serves to spray large and thick phlegm to clog the respiratory tract. By using an ambroxol HCl cough
medicine, the phlegm will be thinner so that it is easier to remove it from the throat when coughing. This
makes it easier for you to breathe because the respiratory tract is no blocked.

This drug is used in several conditions that produce a lot of phlegm such as:

Bronchiectasis

Emphysema

Chronic and acute bronchitis

Asthma bronchitis

Bronchitis pneumokoniosis

Ambroxol can sometimes cause side effects such as disorders of the digestive system, such as nausea,
vomiting and heartburn. But these side effects are generally relatively mild.

If you are taking an ambroxol syrup cough medicine, make sure to always shake the container well for 15
seconds before pouring each dose. Measure the dosage carefully using a special measuring instrument /
spoon that is usually available in the package. Don't use a home spoon because you might not get the
right dose.

Meanwhile, if you are taking an ambroxol tablet cough medicine, do not grind, chew, or cut the drug into
several parts unless the doctor recommends it.
