“Domicile” as distinguished from “Citizenship”

 In general, domicile speaks of one’s permanent place of abode, while citizenship


indicates ties of allegiance and loyalty.
 A person may be a citizen of one state, without being a domiciliary thereof;
conversely, one may possess his domicile in one state without necessarily being a
citizen thereof.
 Filipinos who are immigrants abroad such as green card holders are still Filipino
citizens but their domicile is the country where they have permanently migrated.
